This is my new favorite book of all time 🐉
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (literally would rate infinite starts if I could)
This novel follows the stories of multiple characters in a world torn by long standing conflict as they prepare to take on an evil that had laid dormant for 1000 years. Characters have to put aside differences to come together and defeat the common enemy. Characters grapple with prophecy and duty and conflicting feelings with such.
I don’t think there’s enough words to convey how much I enjoyed this book. I was utterly engrossed in the plot of this story along with invested in the characters you meet. This book is 800 pages long and I don’t think a page of it is unnecessary or wasted. If you feel confident in taking on such a behemoth of a book I 100% recommend reading this book.
I am once again begging you to get your hands on physical media and/or save your fave stuff OFFLINE.
@thetransfemininereview has written several articles about creating your own archive!
Project 2025 wants to criminalize trans literature. Here’s a game plan for keeping our stories alive.
Here's one of them, but I would recommend checking out the rest of the website as well :)
reading physical books is so much more fun because you can put your face in the book when youre having a strong emotion
I feel like I rate a lot of book between four and five starts and I wonder if I’m just too nice? Honestly I think I’m just good at picking out books that I like. Is anyone else the same?
This book hurt me and healed something in me at the same time 🚀
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This book follows the story of Lily Hu, a Chinese American girl who is coming to terms with her sexuality. She sees an ad for a male impersonator at a place called The Telegraph Club and yearns to go see him perform. She makes friends with a girl named Kath who reveals she has been to The Telegraph Club and is willing to take her. Kath and Lily grow closer causing all sorts of problems in Lily’s social life. This story explores the intersection of race and sexuality and subverting expectations.
This book had such a powerful message I would recommend this book to all queer people. I was kicking my feet and giggling at the good parts and almost in tears at the bad parts. I think this book does a good job tackling intersectionality and is such an awesome read.
This book was crazy 🐖

This book follows the story of an RA and her messy entanglement with a 38 year old professor and three residents of her dorm. This story deals with themes of race, sexuality, money, and bad behavior.
Most of this book is pretty calm while still making good commentary of class and race within society. But the end…everything just goes downhill really fast in the best way possible. I really liked this book and the themes it explores. It also mentions Iowa references and that’s where I’m from so I was excited. Overall a very rollercoaster ride of a book.
Happy National Library Week!! A great time to ask everyone you know if they have a library card.
Reading this had my brain working overtime 🐺
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️(.75)
O Sinners! tells the story of a cult called “the nameless” through the eyes of Faruq (a reporter living with the cult to find out their story, a screenplay of a documentary about the cult in conflict with a church, and flashbacks to the leader of the cult’s time in the Vietnam War. Through these different perspectives you can begin to understand what the cult is about.
This book has me thinking really hard to make sense of it. This book does a good job of writing the cult because at moments even though I knew it was a cult I thought, “ok maybe this isn’t that bad.” I won’t spoil the ending but I was left with the feeling of “is this all,” but after thinking I realized the ending is perfect because a lot of cults don’t do anything extreme they just manipulate you in small ways.
This author never misses!
Rating (for both): ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Andrew Joseph White the author of Hell Follows With Us (mentioned in my five star reads post), The Spirit Bares It’s Teeth, and Compound Fracture has to be my favorite author as of now. His books always star trans and autistic mcs and are full of representation. They are horror books that are sure to grab your attention and leave you wanting more. I wish I could describe how much I loved these books better, but there simply is not words.
Andrew Joseph White is releasing a new book later this year and I cannot wait to read it. It means so much to see diverse lgbt and autistic characters in his books.
Please look at TWs before reading these books
Reblog if you think public libraries are important and should be maintained.
This book is perfection 💜

The Color Purple follows main character Celie as she comes of age and grows old in Georgia between 1909-1947. We follow her story through letters she writes to God where we get to watch her evolve in both her spirituality and her view of herself.
I think this book will be one that will stick with me forever. It is something I had been meaning to read for a very long time. The main character is very compelling and I was brought through the entire spectrum of emotions reading this book.
Before reading please make sure to check trigger warnings.
This book was wacky in all the right ways!
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Tehrangeles follows the life of The Melanis, an Iranian family of fast food moguls, as they prepare to become reality tv stars. Things don’t go as planned with the possibility of war on Iran in America and covid on the rise. The family and their Persian cat have to navigate life as they know it changing with no end in sight.
This book definitely threw me for a loop as I was not expecting anything to go how it did. This book is very funny while also being able to discuss serious topics.
This book was so good I finished it in one day! 📖☠️
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (.5)
This book is a prequel to Legends and Lattes. It follows the main character, Viv, when she as it the height of her time in battle. After being injured she is stranded in a small beach town and makes friends with an unlikely bunch of townsfolk. Together they have to find and defeat a necromancer that is wreaking havoc all around them.
I really enjoyed this story and thought it tied in great with Legends and Lattes. It was adventurous and humorous. The characters were all so lovable and I couldn’t put this book down.
I do not have words to describe how much I loved this book 🐦⬛
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Hollow Kingdom follows a crow named Shit Turd and his beloved hound Dennis as they navigate a post-apocalyptic world. S.T. struggles with embracing his crow side and using his human and crow instincts to solve new problems in this new world he lives in.
This book was so funny while also making good commentary on how humans have impacted the planet. This is one of my favorite things I have read since I’ve started reading again. I definitely recommend this book!
a solid visual representation of me in a bookstore
