The Crown of Gilded Bones is going to be the #1 book of the year in 2021. Mark my words. This book was breath-stealing and absolutely incredible. The Crown of Gilded Bones will keep you on your toes and your view on the world and things you think you know will be completely altered. Expect the unexpected! The world gets so much bigger and many questions you have will be answered, which will spark many new questions all over again!

If you thought the romance was amazing and steamy in the first two, get ready for this one to increase the heat to smoldering! It is probably the spiciest I have read from Jen yet, and I’ve read almost all of her books. Spiciness aside, Poppy and Cas’s relationship just makes it totally clear how meant for each other they are. My favorite couple, hands down. I’m absolutely head over heels in love with Casteel. Can he be real, please?

You’re gonna want to get ready to laugh! I highlighted so many moments that just made me giggle so loud. Jen writes so many good one-liners and hilarious interactions with her characters. The side characters really shine in this book. Characters are the most important thing in any story for me, and Jen writes them all so well. I love so many characters, and they must be protected at all costs!

The action is so intense and there were so many moments that I wanted to scream because I wanted to be in the fight with them or protect my babies! Jen really puts them through the wringer in this one, expect your world to be rocked! There may or may not be some tears to be shed…

The Crown of Gilded Bones is everything you think it’s going to be and way more! The ending is going to leave you begging for more in the most epic way possible. It definitely left me feeling that way and I can’t wait for the fourth installment into this incredible world Jen has created! Thank you to Jennifer and Stephanie for sending me the ARC as being a part of Jen’s ARC Team. It’s been my greatest honor ❤️

The Lavender Haze video is out now. There is lots of lavender. There is lots of haze. There is my incredible costar Laith Ashley who I absolutely adored working with. This was the first video I wrote out of the 3 that have been released, and this one really helped me conceptualize the world and mood of Midnights, like a sultry sleepless 70’s fever dream. Okay no but like, I am still SO ENAMORED by this transition y’all, ‘cause when Dorothy opens the door of the house onto the colors of Oz, the inside of the house is still sepia toned. And they did that by literally making the interior and the costume and everything SEPIA TONED. You had a double for Judy Garland in a specifically-created sepia-toned dress, in a sepia-toned set, opening the door, backing out of frame, and then the Dorothy that steps back into frame is Judy Garland in her full color costume and makeup, stepping out into the color set.

Y’all it’s such a GREAT EFFECT, and this was before computer effects and green screen, it was all practical and yeah it feels like nothing now, but at the time, man, not only was technicolor new, but I’m pretty sure no other movie had done a transition out of b/w or sepia into color, and even knowing it was a technicolor film, that must have just been fucking wild to see! It still is wild to see!! It’s so good.

The technique of switching between double and main actor without an edit is called a Texas Switch and it's still used today, it's very neat to have something so simple yet tricky persist pretty much just because it genuinely looks better to do it with timing than with editing.

Midnights is a wild ride of an album and I couldn’t be happier that my co pilot on this adventure was Jack Antonoff. He’s my friend for life (presumptuous I know but I stand by it) and we’ve been making music together for nearly a decade HOWEVER… this is our first album we’ve done with just the two of us as main collaborators. We’d been toying with ideas and had written a few things we loved, but Midnights actually really coalesced and flowed out of us when our partners (both actors) did a film together in Panama. Jack and I found ourselves back in New York, alone, recording every night, staying up late and exploring old memories and midnights past. We were so lucky to also work with our brilliant collaborators Sam Dew, Sounwave, Lana Del Rey, Jahaan Sweet, Keanu Beats, William Bowery, and Zoe Kravitz. Laura Sisk was our excellent engineer. The wonderful and wise Beth Garrabrant took the album photographs. Midnights is a collage of intensity, highs and lows and ebbs and flows. Life can be dark, starry, cloudy, terrifying, electrifying, hot, cold, romantic or lonely. Just like Midnights. Which is out now

I'm also hoping for anything Encanto and Aladdin.

But OMG what if they add Oliver And Company??? Or 101 Dalmatians?!?
