me when they talk about the book of mormon and i remember i love the book of mormon
this belongs here.
I need more LDS mutuals. I have a truly terrible Mormon pun to inflict upon you.
Inflict it. And then I will share it with my Mormon mutuals.
Okay. So, Lehi was of the tribe of Joseph through Manasseh, right? And there's a lot of scriptural evidence that he and his sons were metalworkers. Does that make them an entire family of Joseph smiths?
has anyone ever prayed into a megaphone. from a rooftop. in broad daylight. i might have to
accidental deep mormon lore is a fucking first for me i gotta sit this site out for a while

alma/amulek 10k post-ammonihah hurt/comfort ⬅️statements dreamed up by the utterly deranged
utterly enlightened you mean.
So I went to a Hamilton-style musical script reading about the Book of Alma
The best parts are as follows:
Alma the Younger (who is exclusively referred to as "Junior") starts it off strong with anti-Christian slam poetry
After Junior and the Sons of Mosiah are brought to repentance, they start a bunch of community programs. My top two are "In the Light Open Mic Night" (where you can go to confess your sins) and the "Seraphim Smack Down Program for Kids"
The best part of this was that it was a musical which means that there were songs. All things considered, the production on them was pretty good, but the lyrics were a bit clunky. But they were lowkey killing it.
Mosiah tries to ground his sons so that they don't go preach to the Lamanites
There's a whole song about tearing down the monarchy
One of the characters moves to Ammonihah. In the first scene of her being there, she's walking through a market with carts that sell the following: weed, multilevel marketing schemes, and lawyers
Cement plays a surprising large part in the plot.
Junior aka Alma the Younger says the phrase "for reals for reals" no less than five times in one scene
They have an entire political debate in only slam poetry. Snaps and everything.
Zeezrom got gender swapped to be a woman. #girlboss
Now while all this was mildly entertaining, none of it prepared me for the real highlight of the night.
The scriptural story of Alma and Amulek in Ammonihah ends incredibly tragically. The believing men are exiled and all of the believing women and children are cast into fires to be burned to death.
Obviously, in a musical about the Book of Alma, that's going to be a major plot point.
The scene opens. The actress clears her throat and begins her sad song.
Then the interpretive dancers come out.
I cannot emphasize enough that there were not dancers for any other part of this musical.
I watched in incredulity as the dancers performed an interpretive dance of children being thrown into flames.
It was the saddest part of the whole musical and I was crying with laughter.
Anyway, I hope that one day it can become a bigger production beyond a script reading because it was definitely entertaining and had a lot of potential.
It's called Bina, for anyone who wants to keep an eye out for it.
hi i have to know were they selling the abstract concept of multilevel marketing schemes or did they namedrop any because (off brand) scentsy would be Hilarious
I think it was the abstract concept of multilevel marketing schemes

The Book of Mormon (1830)
some of the funniest conversations in the BoM are the ones that are like
Prophet: Do you read the scriptures
Some guy: ...yes?
Prophet: Well you clearly don’t understand them
Some guy:
Prophet: Idiot
An absolutely hilarious addition from @the-queen-is-off-duty
I started writing something…
I read this aloud to my wife and she says "I hate how well that fits" 😭😭😭😭😭
It's beautiful....it looks like it's even in the right font and everything...
