dear god the sheer magic of being so invested in a book you just sit and read half of it feverishly without any ability to stop, just gulping down word after word like it’s water in a desert and your eyes aren’t fast enough for your mind and when you reach the last page you look up and realize you’re not decades and miles away but in the space of your own room,,,, truly unmatched by any other human experience

My TBR jar was not nice to me this month. So many physical only books, barely any audio books in sight. I'm also carrying over Baby Teeth from March. This includes my TBR for the #magicalreadathon2020 as well as my TBR jar
24 LGBT+ Books by Black Authors
I’m seeing a lot of the same books on my dash, so I spent a few hours researching some lesser-known books. These books fall across a variety of genres and age group.

while i don’t claim to be a “book blogger” by any account (more of a cranky publishing-person blogger most days), i know a lot of people have followed me through my book posts, so i’m taking advantage of that captive audience to boost these bookstores. shop them through their own websites and if you’re local, look into curbside pickup to minimize shipping costs and overhead. okay that’s all thanks bye stay safe.

I was so totally not aware that people didn’t know that being sorted into Houses was a real thing in UK schools. It’s not something made up just for the Harry Potter world, it’s a real schooling system, I was in the St George House at my school and everyone had the same attitude to Prefects as everyone in the HP world did to Percy Weasley I can assure you.
how do you get the hat to talk
We had them in my high school here in Australia and let me tell you I wish we didn’t
i’m torn between my feelings about OP’s statement, and my feelings about your school’s officially sponsored raunchy furry artwork
Does anyone else do that thing while reading where your eyes are like 3 lines ahead of where your brain is?
Do you mean skipping to the next paragraph and not being able to stop yourself from reading a few lines but then you have to go back to where you were before and try really hard to read in a linear fashion but it's boring now that you know what happens next? Yes
oh you are me.
SO I FOUND THE BEST EVER BOOK TODAY!!
“Let’s Talk About Love” by Claire Kann
It’s a YA romcom about a black ace girl!!!

I read this book a while back and Alice was such a fun character I love her 🥰
That cover though
rip to all the kids who used to reads books cover to cover in one sitting and now can’t find the energy to read for fun
Oof.
no one:
me: here’s a flow chart of 41 lgbtq+ book recommendations, have fun!
disclaimer: this is a very non-comprehensive list since I’m only including books that I’ve read
I personally attest to the awesomeness of: an absolutely remarkable thing, more than this, and aristotle and dante discover the secrets of the universe
my superpower is going into a bookstore and immediately forgetting the name of every book ive ever wanted to read
My superpower is going to a bookshop, buying all of the books I’ve ever wanted to read, taking them home and then sitting on this hell site for hours on end instead of actually reading them
“What are your hobbies?”
me: “Well, I love reading - I’m a massive bookworm! Literally all I do is read-”
