Just finished reading the darkverse series by Runyx (super late I KNOW!) (right on time for the syndicator, I KNOW!) and I just want to come out and say that I loveeeeee the series. Thereâs not a single character I hate, and thereâs not a couple thatâs boring, and can we talk about the female characters?? Theyâre all soo strong and their communication skills?? Oh my god.
I can sit and rant about how wonderful the series is but there wonât be enough time in the world for it. May only disappointment with the series is that itâs not longer and itâs about to end đ

This is just a rant because Iâm so disappointed but here goes:
Just finished the last book of the series and Iâm so disappointed actually. It feels like the author who wrote the first 5 books, especially Moranaâs and Tristanâs is completely different from the one who wrote âThe Syndicatorâ. I feel like it had unnecessary POVs, the whole syndicate started with Tristan, Morana, Dainn and Lyla, the four POVs would have been enough, with glimpses into the other characters (because their POVs were literally used to fill up the pages). I loved this series and Iâm sad I read the last book, not because itâs over but because THIS is going to be my last memory of the world Iâve come to really enjoy.
People are annoyed over more of Lyla and Dainn chapters but Iâm annoyed that everyone got more book time than Tristan and Morana (who literally started this off btw). Dainn did all the work with help from Morana and everyone was just existing on the side. Tristan was so out of character as well, I liked he was a bit less guarded after finding his sister, essentially implying his decade long search is over but that kind of wall doesnât go up immediately, especially when the threat of the syndicate still loomed over them. He just went into the background. He also never noticed Moranaâs pain when everyone noticed it, and we know how obsessed and in tune heâs been with her since they were fucking KIDS. How is this the same man who threatened her dad for calling her a whore?? And itâs funny because in the little time we see him in the books, he talks about how heâs so attuned to Moranaâs body language but canât notice her using her right side more or the pain? The lack of (thereâs none btw) âI love youâ to Morana drove me crazy, especially when we see him say those words to Lyla, so you know he CAN say it, and we KNOW heâs himself the most around Morana. Everyone getting pregnant (Zephyr) was not my favorite bit either. Her dad being a part of the syndicate was so random and not explored, the fifth leader, the master and him being Dainnâs dad was also not explored and he suddenly died at the end too without a nice showdown was soo disappointing especially because throughout his POVs (yes, even he got more book time than Tristan motherfucking Caine) heâs talking about finally having a challenge and then boom, heâs dead. Boom, the book ends.
I have so many more thoughts but Iâm just mainly pissed that Runyx did my favorite couple the DIRTIEST.
