Ok so, a few years ago I started to write a book. The prologue was one of the best things I had ever written in my life, but the book, no matter how many times I tried to restart it always turned out a flop, so I gave up, but I realised maybe someone else can make my dream come true. I give anyone full access and you can use whatever you want with it. Ok imma paste it in now, be warned it's a v long post! It's deffo not perfect but I just thought it might help someone with writers block or smth (and guys pls don't be mean I was younger when i wrote this if you don't like it keep opinions to yourself)
Myathius stood on the ship, the waves crashing before him colliding the dark, murky navy blue with the bright blue of the sky holding up the dazzling sun. He squinted his eyes while shielding his face against the beating heat of midday. The captain of the ship drew in a long breath and started speaking in a booming voice that rebounded along the polished boats surface. A projector, he realised. He hadn't seen one in years with the rarity of magic blood nowadays.
He snapped out of his thoughts as two women with steely expressions tied his arms and legs together before tying his waist against the raft.
Sirens. There must be some up ahead. It is the only reason that they would tie up all the men on this boat.
A soft beautiful voice beckoned Myathius, the tune whirling around in his head till he felt sick, the ringing melody making his blood pulse before he felt an overwhelming feeling of happiness. Taking over his body, his blood. Rushing around his head till he felt he could burst. Still the melody softly rang out, becoming louder as Myathius and the ship drew closer until it was pounding his ears and he needed it. It felt like living for the first time. And he never wanted to die. He wanted more, needed more as the unexplainable happiness spun around him was like a troupe of excited ballerinas twirling around and around making him dizzy with happiness and longing. He tried to walk towards this beautiful melody yet found himself restrained. He clawed at the ropes in frustration before his concentration got drawn to distant shouting on the ship.
An alluring, gorgeous woman had stepped onto the ship, her skin shimmering with long black hair falling to her knees with a subtle wave, piercing blue eyes and an oval face with flawless skin flowing into a long slender neck and body with perfect curves and long legs. Her body covered with a knee length chiton and her feet bare. Her mesmerising lips softly moved and out rang the hypnotic song that clouded Myathius’s head.
The women that tied him up earlier were trying to… fight her? No. That can't be right… Either way, with a flick of her wrist they all sprawled on the floor. Myathius stopped struggling to reach her when he realised she was gracefully gliding towards him, her captivating song still rushing from the lips he couldn't take his eyes off of. She stopped in front of him and he felt as if he was so happy he could live forever, married to this gorgeous woman while cruising the seas together.
She leant closer and leaned in towards Myathius with a small smile. He stood there beaming before leaning closer to kiss her, this beautiful woman with the captivating song. Their lips brushed as the happiness shone out of him, he felt as if he was the sun himself. She still moved her lips, murmuring the melody against his before she reached around his back and quickly untied the knots that had before seemed like a prison. Once his arms were free he threw them around the woman's neck before pulling her in for another kiss. This was it. He never believed the whole love at first sight theory but… here he was, kissing the woman with the alluring song.
She stopped singing surprised before she shrank and Myathius' head cleared. Her body was shortening before becoming half… fish? The myth of mermaid? Bird? He stood there dumbfounded as the overwhelming happiness cleared from his head, his thoughts becoming clear as his urge to run bubbled up to the surface. The woman's beautiful face looked panicked as she started to sing her sweet melody and his mind clouded over with this newfound happiness before she took his hand and walked to the edge of the ship, with angry crashing waves below.
He jumped. Of course he did.
But unlike others, he lived to tell the tale
