🤎 Review:

I have to say it. I am in love with her words. On the Come Up is the kind of story that drags you down so deep that you’re underneath thought, engulfed in a place of pure feeling. It’s a powerful tale—by turns tender and attentive, unyielding and sharp. It made me laugh. It made me crushingly sad. It made me feel like something was growing inside me, like the words were sinking into me and expanding in my chest and it all wanted to spill out in waves of music and silver light. Angie Thomas rolls up her sleeves and tackles Bri’s story with heady mirth. On the Come Up glitters with life, and its conversational, yet profound tone is warm and magnetic when it isn't quietly devastating, and raw as a wound. There’s a prodigious sense of hard, spare wanting in this book that fairly leaps off the page. Bri’s passion is a welter of flame. Just as she is unstoppable and relentless for the ones she loves, she embodies that with her love for rap. She spoke her dream and promptly sealed into the world and woe betide anyone who stands in her way. Her lyrics dug at my bones and made chills shiver across my skin. I absolutely loved Bri’s character.Angie keeps her struggles energized and absorbing that you can almost feel it in your blood as well: that iron weight Bri had borne so long, that certain recklessness of temper, nourished by the rough world in which she found herself, which had burst thrillingly to steely determination. It was equally harrowing and thrilling to know that Bri was standing at the precipice of something new and it felt like a gift and a privilege to embark with her on this sublime campaign of life-perfecting. But even more than that, the novel's strength lies in how it succeeds in being both a delightful romp through teenagedom, packed with charisma, firecracker dialogue and well-crafted characters, while also being a bold and illuminating commentary on racism, prejudice, double standards and homophobia. It’s a difficult feat that marks Angie Thomas as a remarkable author to keep your eyes on. On the Come up is set in the same universe as The Hate U Give and the memory of THUG’s tragic events are emblazoned on this book’s pages. Although Starr’s and Bri’s lives could not be any more disparate, the book highlights how discrimination and racism touches them with the same hand, and how it is a constant feature in the lives of the American black community no matter what their socio-economic standing is. I'm excited to see the conversations this book evokes! I swear, this book is going to be very memorable to everyone who reads it.

I think anyone above 14 can read this and actually this book deserves to be read by everyone.

COZY BOOK JOURNAL 🍂🧸🤎:     Entry 1:

We all love that brown-vintage theme aesthetic, don’t we? For years and years I have dreamed to have a private library with this old brown vintage theme. this dream started when I was a kid, watching Harry Potter. I really loved the hog warts library. Ahhh good times they were(okay now I sound like a really old person lol) So guys, I know you guys would love to see and read such an aesthetically pleasing blog(Who am I Kidding? I know this blog looks like a very boring essay💀) So without further ado, here I present MY BROWN-VINTAGE THEMED LIBRARY! >BOOKS AND BROWYN:In this new segment, I will talk about books, what makes them special, what I feel about them etc… 1. What makes books so special(subjectively speaking)?

Books are special for so many reasons. I, personally believe that books are some sort of door that magically transports you to some different  world where everything is better, with the help of words. Words, just words,Papers, just papers and ink, just ink are all the things that make my imagination run wild, make this place a better place and feel that tingle of magic. They really feel like your friends. They teleport you to whatever place, timeline, area you wish for. It’s always astounding as to how just mere words make you feel immense emotions, travel you to different timelines and be your friend. I believe books are an escape from reality but more than that they are also immense strength. And a teacher who  educates you about so many stuffs. My book list 🍂🧸🤎: Review of “They would never catch us” by Jessica Goodman

Plot: 

A thriller about two sisters vying for the top spot on their cross-country team--the only way out of their stifling small town. But their dreams are suddenly thrown into peril when a new girl threatens to take away everything they've worked for... until she disappears. Genre: thriller, mystery, fiction, ya 

Review:

Hmmmm……. To be honest, this book was kind of like the same, usual kind of teen thriller where a girl goes missing, one character is VERY dark, protagonist tries to solve etc. The same old concept, not gonna lie. But…….. did it fit/serve? I guess it kinda did. There were a lot of moments where I seriously wanted to like just close the book cause like there were a lot happening and almost everything were predictable. And the case is legit not solved until like the last few pages,like what?(I mean yes, I know, the reveal of the killer is only in the end but here the amount of flashbacks and story of each character is way more lot than the case content). And the reason the author used to defend the protagonist’s character or personality was…… some what lagging(?). Butttt this was kind of like a one time read. Though this book gave me a headache and was WAY TOO PREDICTABLE, I still read it till the end(not just for the review lol). I kind of felt connected and sympathetic towards the protagonist which I think is exactly what the author wanted(so yay! Congrats for that). It was….. okay. If you are expecting a thriller like “Good girl’s guide to murder”, then this won’t satisfy you. Butttt if you read this with an open mind, you may like it. This book, I personally feel like, was subjected towards new thriller reads/addicts. Kind of forgettable. But somehow this book made me(someone whose known for giving up on things easily) read this book until the end regardless of me knowing exactly who the killer is.  Age ratings:

Anyone above 14/15 can read this in my opinion 

Overall ratings and final thoughts: 

Overall rating would be a 7/0.  This was a concept that was done just too many times, it’s something that I have seen a lot of times but despite that this book held me captive and complete it. I loved the protagonist too. The overall idea of this book was kinda old but yeah in the end, it was kinda good.  💋xoxo💋

It ends with us: A journey of roses and thorns

I just completed reading “It ends with us” by Colleen Hover, and I can’t get out of it. Like they say, “After you have read a good book, you have a hard time coping with reality”. Somehow, this book crept up to my heart, filled it and is refusing to let go. There are only some books, that are just embedded in my heart, my mind and in my life and one such book is this one.

Plot:

Lily blossom bloom, a twenty-three year old business graduate who grew up in an abusive family moves to Boston, where she falls in love with Ryle, who is a surgeon. He is the man of everyone’s dreams. Everything is just perfect. She and Ryle together are very happy. Her dream to open a flower shop, comes true. She even gets friends and everything is just sunshine and roses. Or…… is it? Lily starts reading her journals and we get a glimpse of her past relationship life and the tables turn. Read the book to find out what happens next.

I seriously want to talk more about this but I don’t want to spoil anything. So let’s start with the review!

Review:

This book is a masterpiece. It’s just a bunch of papers, but all the emotions that this bunch of papers makes me feel is unhealthy. This book made me cry, laugh,blush, angry and what not.  Unlike the usual romance books, with cheesy lines, This book deals with a very sensitive topic: Abuse. As a person, who just like lily, saw abuses, this book acted as am immense strength and power. This book was like a shoulder, where I rested my tired head. The way Colleen writes make you feel like you are there, you are lily. This book is definitely a must read for people like me, who don’t want a cheesy romance but instead want to feel a lot of complicated emotions. Truly, any person with a heartbeat should read this. Let me conclude with this, If ever I would have to fall in love with a book, I would choose this one.

Age ratings:  

This book does have some spicy stuff but other than that there a lot of abuse scenes too, so I personally think that anyone above atleast 16 can read this book. But it is advisable to not read it if you are a minor and are sensitive towards abusive contents.

Overal rating and thoughts:

This book didn’t feel like a book at all, it felt like a life event. I felt everything happening in the book, so it was very hard accepting it was book. The quotes in these books just melted my heart. The characters in these books were all realistic. The story and the concept of this book is very strong, beautiful and irreplaceable. Overall this book was way better than the word “good” itself. But yes, I, personally feel like the first few pages of these books were kind of cringe(my personal opinion) but I didn’t have the time to feel that cringe since I was then overwhelmed with other complicated emotions after the next few pages. Collen hover perfectly balanced the book with romance and life lessons. This book will always be embedded in my heart and have a special place there. I would rate this a 100/10 lol. Truly, this book must be read by everyone who has a heartbeat.  Btw, Atlas is my new ideal boyfriend lol.  Will love this book with all my heart.  “In the future... if by some miracle you ever find yourself in the position to fall in love again... fall in love with me.” He presses his lips against my forehead. “You’re still my favorite person, Lily.
