#BLACKOUT
Do me good and iāll do you better.
I said that I would love you forever, but Iāve come to realize those words wasnāt meant for you⦠it was expressed towards the essence of love itself - beyond us. Because no matter what vessel love decides to use and connect to my soul, my heart will always embrace it.

ALMOST EVERY BLACK MAN IN HOLLYWOOD BEING WITH A LIGHTSKINNED WOMAN IS NOT A COINCIDENCE.
Colorism can be there BEFORE fame yāall. I promise.Ā
You picked bad examples of colorism in the industry⦠itās there, itās identifiable. But it doesnāt show up just cause a nigga dating a lightskin woman⦠with a few of people up there your only base that theyāre colorist is their current partner. You arenāt making a sound case against those individuals. We are aware of colorism you just picked some bad examples⦠that only subjectively illustrate colorism if at all. If you go some people like Terrance Howardā¦Tyrese, Tay Diggs, a list of great examples of colorist men exist. You picked a bad social sample base and weakened your point because of it. What youāre saying is real, just not illustrated well with your images.
Your original post said āIf y'all wanna have this discussion we canā⦠so yeah you did
But sheās not wrong. How is it we have all that black male celebrities, especially the ones that quickly come to mind like Terrace Howard, Kevin Hart, Taye Diggs, etc that are dating light skinned, racially ambiguous black women or non black women? Half of these men came out their face at one point or another about black women, particularly dark skinned black women, like Kevin Hart. Others, like Taye Diggs decided that their kids werenāt black (until they got dragged for it). Music videos by black males artists, especially these days hardly feature obviously black women. Even back when we were kids, love interest in an R&B music video is most likely to be light skinned with 3c curls. Then you have examples like Harry Belafonte and Sidney Poitier that didnāt date black women because they felt black women would hold them back. Plenty of black male Pan-African leaders, particularly the ones that were tied to African nations dated/married white women. You think these ideas and images havenāt subconsciously trickled the fuck down? You think everyday black males donāt take all this in from black men theyāre told to admire and donāt want to emulate that? Iāve been around black boys & men all my life. Most of the the guys Iāve grown up with now drool over & idolize black women that are racially ambiguous, which means light skin with āgoodā hair, which means a black girl that might be able to pass for āSpanishā or āforeignā. I see it from black males on Tumblr all the time too. And Iām sure plenty of other black women can say the same. Yaāll quick to dismiss peopleās lived experiences and go back to insulting dark skinned black women, but then wanna play confused and pass judgement when these girls grow up to be like Lil Kim & start renouncing their blackness. Do me a favor please @blckoutsticks, before you start claiming that people are citing bad examples, make sure that youāre not calling these men bad examples because YOU ( or your friends,as far as you know) personally donāt think that way about dark skinned women. The truth is, off bare observation alone Iāve seen more famous black men with light skinned racially ambiguous black women or nonblack women than Iāve seen it the other way around. And the dynamic definitely changes when the roles are reversed as well. When itās a black man, the defense is āitās just his preferenceā. When itās a black woman, there is no defense. Sheās a bed wench, white identified etc. From looking at what was said, you donāt sound like you came to discuss anything. You came off as more wanting to dismiss what was said, likely because youāre basing it off your own feelings. Please check that before you go any further.
