If you have a hard time deciding what abilities you want to use, or simply don’t like having to make builds on your own (which is valid, by the way) then boy do I have a useful resource for you:
Say hello to Sendou.ink! This site is a hub for competitive Splatoon stuff, with info on tournaments, profiles for high-level players and a map list maker, but what is most relevant for our purposes right now is the builds section. By going there, you can pick a weapon and instantly get dozens of examples of what pro players are choosing for it in particular. With the user search function you can also look up specific players, in case you want to see if your favourite pro, or just someone who mains what you main, has their builds up (and a lot of the time they do).
If you lack the necessary information, or the drive, to make your own builds, then the best way to learn is to simply look at what the high-skill players are doing instead. While builds are rarely truly set in stone, you’ll probably spot a great deal of variation between the various players, having examples makes it easier to make your own decisions. Maybe you want a sub slot of Sub Resistance Up to avoid Bomb combos, or you could replace it with an additional sub slot of Quick Super Jump to get back into the action faster.
While you can go against the grain and just pick whatever you like (and I encourage you to do so if it makes the game more fun for you) I still think it’s good to see what abilities other people are using. It’s always good to make informed choices, even if you choose to ignore the information!
happy late halloween

Dated format but the hatred never dies
I was going to color correct these but that’s clearly getting in the way of ever posting them so w/e
idk this is like my favorite thing in the first art book. Just dumb little world-building things. Also the sad bloop
