she hesitates, making sure he had caught his footing properly before abruptly disappearing. she was gone barely a blink, re-appearing with her waterbottle in her hand - offering it out to the boy.

“yeah,” she said, nodding, a wide smile taking over her face at his words. “yeah - don’t be sorry!” irey said. “it’s all my quirk - healing, metabolism - you’re right!”

she pushes curls from her face, a little sheepish at his compliments. “but - you were doing really well, too! i’m really impressed with you, you know.”

「🔥」 → izuku feels more heat rush to his cheeks, feeling his inner flame twist && burn in his chest. it’s not an UNPLEASANT feeling, when he laughs && smoke rushes through his nose once more.

izuku looks absolutely fucking deranged whenever he’s excited enough.

an example of this would be finding an interesting, new quirk to dissect. he will go to crazy lengths to learn more about it, && when he gets like that...

just hope he doesn’t.

for example, during the sports festival, it’s likely he only fell behind in the obstacle race near the beginning because he ran into shinsou or monoma, && proceeded to interrogate && terrify them to death.

“can you brainwash people into doing things they don’t know how to? what’s your limit of people you can hold at once? can you do it over the phone? if you answered a recording of yourself would it brainwash you? can you make someone forget something, or command someone to do something without saying it?”

“do you automatically know how to use a quirk when you copy it? does your body change to accomadate the quirk’s functions, or is your body naturally a kind of universal plug? can you copy mutations, && if you can, is it painful? if your quirk is erased && returned before you run out of time, can you still use the quirk?”

if he’s extra happy one day, he either has a plan, found a new quirk to examine, or both.
