As I look back through photos of my childhood home, I really really miss living there. My backyard was verdant and full of resources. The invasive bamboo sheltered me even in my adulthood during my flintknapping and flame curing it with a blowtorch, I had a hideout under an old flower bush my mom made for me as a kid, the wild hawks who liked my attention and company would perch in the huge maple outside, and I had woods to roam beyond the property line. Now I'm in the city and it's so not the same. There are good things yeah, my music goals wouldn't have been fulfilled back there, but still... Cherish where you grew up if you have the chance, you miss it more as the years go by.
