just a quick note that we are working on a revamp and move, the plot will not be changing to the effect that you'll be effected, but if you want your characters to start planning to move out of the hotel you're welcome to bring any questions or concerns to us or to the ooc group chat. If any potential members looking to join would like more information prior to joining, we're very willing to explain the changes and when they'll be happening. (The group will still be location based, and will still have the hotel's means of travel and transportation. we will also still be supernatural and rely on the factions of light, dark, or unaligned.)

Today's the day, the sun is shining, the tank is clean! (don't panic we wanted the tank clean this time) I will be posting the complete follow list here in the next hour or two, and when I do, our doors will be open once again!

So... What does this mean for you?

Your characters have won a shiny new home! No more living in the Hotel, they all have houses now.

The location blog will go further into detail in the coming weeks, but home of all sizes and types will be available, so the only limit is your character's imagination.

To the north of town will be more modern homes and our more upscale shopping. Meraki station is located here, so if you plan to travel frequently, you should accustom yourself with this area.

To the east, we have a more Victorian and Edwardian style residential area along with smaller shops and a cozy down town area.

To the west, we have mid century architecture, along with many dining and communal areas.

To the south, we have lower income housing, apartments, townhouses, etc... along with a rich natural area. Please be wary of the forest and the waters in this area after dark. Cryptids aren't cryptic in the safety of Evergreen.

All other important information will be coming soon. Please take the next few days to make yourself at home.

Attention residents,

The Hotel Meraki is finding solace in it's final destination shortly. All of the inhabitants will be provided new homes and anything you need to maintain your current quality of life in Evergreen Sanctum in the next few days.

You do not need to worry about packing and moving. Fae staff will be moving everyone with the help of various magical skills.

Your travel abilities that you have grown accustomed to will still be available to you at the Meraki Station in Evergreen Sanctum. A simple visit to the station will be able to magically transport you anywhere in the world you require the same way that the Hotel has previously been capable of providing.

Hey besties. We gotta talk. I hate to be sticking a mod note here so soon after we open the new main but this is important. 

I’m breaking this up into a lot of small text blocks because of people who have a hard time reading walls of text, i promise its not as long as it looks. 

We’ve been noticing a lot of people going ignored in the big group chats lately. And I know that it’s not intentional, but the big chats are meant to be a conversation. They’re for talking to everyone in the chat. This is primarily about the in character big chat and the dash, but the ooc chat is important too. 

If you’re trying to talk to one person, slide to a dm, so no one feels like a one on one conversation is pushing their comment aside. 

If you’re trying to talk to a small group of friends and might ignore someone popping in that’s not part of that discussion because you’ve tunneled in on it, make a group chat. the only rules we have for group chats is that if it’s more than 5 members, we ask that a mod be included even if it’s just as a spectator in case of any incidents that need assistance. 

if you pop in to say something but the last person who spoke hasn’t been answered, reply to them, then say your thing. even if you don’t know about what they’re talking about. 

The occupants of the hotel all live in the same space, they know each other, they’ve seen each other in the bars, restaurants, hallways, etc. 

There’s no reason not to act like your character is excited for someone’s new music, merch drop, new pet, etc. There’s no reason to completely ignore questions that haven’t been answered. Your character is capable of a simple “that’s so cool!” “congrats!” “what’s that? can you tell me more?” or even “I’m not sure, but I bet @/other character would know!” all of those are things that keep conversations going and make sure people feel included.

Unless your characters have beef for some reason, which there’s not that many negative plots going on in this game, no one should be going ignored. 

This is not exclusive to any one or handful of characters. Everyone in this group has been guilty of this at some point in time. Even us as mods are guilty of it. We know. But even us mods have felt ignored in our own game from time to time, and several people have brought this to our attention. This is not an exclusive issue.

I’m not scolding anyone, and I’m not mad at anyone. But I am here to ask you all to be a little more mindful.
