The darkness should have ended,

 when he disappeared,

 it took hold,

 grabbed my soul,

 capturing any light or sign of happiness,

following me like a black veil, 

Oh darkness let go

Memories ringing in my ears,

crumbling thoughts and signs of life,

forgiveness should be worked for, 

yet you grabbed it like it’s your craft,

Oh darkness let go

let go.

Forget the past they say,

let go of it, 

it’s not the matter of me letting go,

but the shadow taking hold,

of every piece of nurturing strength i own,

Oh shadow man free the hold,

let me go.
