This is the same thing over and over again. Palestinians die every day, but it gets a lukewarm headline from mainstream media because death and destruction is inherent to Arabness. Then an aid convoy with white workers is obliterated, and now both the president of the United States and the president of Israel are making statements apologizing for “the poor protection of aid workers.” At one point we were seeing multiple reports a day of paramedics from the Palestine Red Crescent Society dying, but nothing. Crickets. Because they don’t care. And even in these “remorseful statements” there is a strategic reminder that white lives hold more weight than brown lives.

uh no precisely the opposite actually. no amount of prejudiced statements i (or anyone else) make about men will ever be oppressive because there’s no institutional power behind it. for something to be oppressive it must work to reinforce existing inequities, hierarchies, monopolies on power, etc. males as a class have never been culturally, politically, or economically subordinate to women. no matter how hurt your feelings get when women say “men are trash,” that’s where the damage ends. statements like that aren’t used to justify the systemic disenfranchisement and control of men on the basis of their sex because such a system has never existed. such a system does exist for women though. which is why women saying “men are trash,” while lacking nuance for sure, is a frustrated response to lifetimes and generations of gendered violence at the hands of men/patriarchal institutions. while men saying “women are trash” is a way to legitimize that violence. idk why you’re speaking on a subject you admittedly don’t know anything about but now ya know.

nothing about anyone's biological sex makes them a good or bad person. but people are socialized differently based on what their perceived gender is. we live in a patriarchal, misogynistic society, so all of us internalize those ideas and messages. there are good men who have done the work of confronting those internalized biases and make the effort to act/speak out against misogyny, and there are a LOT of men who haven't. there isn't a single female-bodied person i know who has never been harassed or abused by a man. that doesn't mean every single man is an abusive piece of shit, but enough of them are that every female person has experienced some form of gendered violence. so i think women should be allowed to complain about the way men treat us however we want tbh. no amount of "men are trash" posts are ever gonna hurt men as much as they've hurt women
