It is with a heavy heart that I announce BoroughsHQ is officially closing. I apologize if this is unexpected, but I do want to extend the most heartfelt of thank yous to our current members, any past members, and any prospective members for showing any interest in this little group! I started developing it when I was feeling a great need to write one of my favorite OCs, but couldn't find a suitable plotless NYC rp for her. While I have had a fun time being an admin, the daily admin duties have taken up far too much of my time, drastically reducing both my ability and muse to write. More pressing, I’ve just accepted and will be starting a very time-consuming career soon, and would like to preemptively protect my own mental sanity by bringing BHQ to an end while at a high, versus attempting to juggle between a demanding career and a demanding hobby, where BHQ would inevitably suffer slowly through increasing neglect before fizzling out. It has been a joy being your admin, and I wish our members nothing but the best in your future writing endeavors. Thank you again for allowing BoroughsHQ to run for 10 beautiful months. <3 Admin J

good thing you said that since a bunch of the players already made a new nyc group with little differnce to here!

I'm totally aware hun, and it's totally okay; there's no worries from me! The closing of this group was very abrupt, so it's nice to know the players who still wanted to write together have created a new hub to do so. Besides, plotless NYC groups have existed long before BHQ, and will continue to exist after BHQ. So long as everyone puts their own spin on things and none of the things I came up with is directly lifted from here, I'm good.

can the new rp be set in new york with all the same plots? or would you rather it be set elsewhere?

This is very considerate to ask lovelies, but you don't have to worry about my input. I can claim no stake to New York — it's a beautiful city backdrop, you guys have fun with it!

Why not just add someone to the admin team to help?

I'm going to be so honest here love, that announcement has been in my drafts in one form or another since May. I have loved being an admin, but I just do not want to be one anymore, even in a co-admin capacity. It's zapped all my will to write and made me a shitty writing partner; I have no time to plot or write the character I made the group for, and am completely disconnected from the in-character aspects of the group. And I know if I continue as an admin, I'll keep exerting myself here in ways I can't afford to with my new job. But there are members creating a new writing group in the discord, should anyone want to stay together there.

If someone wanted to open a group where the members could relocate, just in a different city would that be allowed? Would that be something we could mention in the discord?

Sure! Go ahead! I don't mind! I'm just relieved to let this go, so you guys are free to create a new city group to continue to write for sure! Hell, I might even join once all my career life calms down. I'm not planning on discontinuing anything for a while, so go ahead and use the discord to plan all you like!

Logan's actually a taken FC here, but between Jonah and Grant, it ended up being an exact split vote with the members! I am a fan of both, but am partial to Jonah since he's listed as a top FC choice on at least one of our available wanted connections. But ultimately, we'd love to see either of them around the boroughs!
