Aidan closed the machine and Murasaki turned it on. However there was a shrill pikachu scream coming from the machine, but it wasn’t Cherri’s. Eventually he turned the machine off and Aidan opened it up to reveal a perfectly fine and healthy Cherri. One of the grunts took out the second pikachu. He was limp and breathing raggedly. Its cheeks sparking concerningly. Murasaki shrugged, “This always seems to happen. I need to fix this machine again. It always ends up killing Pokémon when it’s intention is to help them lend their powers to other Pokémon.” Murasaki pet the dying Pikachu’s head. “Shhh…rest now.” He seemed to care about Pokémon in his own twisted way.
@skulladminregi
Regi flinched at the noises coming from the machine, her heart sinking in her chest, her face contorting in fear and shock. When Cherri came out all good and healthy, her shocked eyes didn’t leave the weakened and dying Pikachu in the machine.
“Y-you said there would be no pain!!” Regi angrily yelled at Murasaki.
“You think I wanted this to happen? I’m trying to sooth the poor thing can’t you tell!” He growled out. This always happened. He could transfer abilities no problem, but the doner subject always dies. He watched as the pikachu passed away in the grunts arms before shouting, “DAMN IT!” He rushed over to the machine to see if he could find the flaw, “What went wrong this time???”
Regi glowered at the older man, tiny sparks of electricity just starting to come out from her hair.
“Don’t. Talk. To me. That way…” She said slowly and threatningly. Cherri, however, seemed very upset with the now-deceased Pikachu lying limp and lifeless in the Grunts’ arms…
“D-damn it, I would have never agreed to this if I knew someone else was gonna get hurt or even DIE! REGI, WHAT HAVE YOU DONE??!!!?!” Regi cursed loudly, chastising herself for allowing another Pokémon to die just to save hers.
Murasaki got up from the machine and snapped, “Feeling Sorry for yourself isn’t going to change what happened. Yes a Pokémon died, but that’s on me not you. I take full responsibility for that. It was not meant to happen. However, I’m not going to give up my research because of it. I’m trying to make a better world. I suggest you go now. You’re free to go.”
“You don’t understand! I allowed that to happe- What?!” Regi couldn’t believe her ears. What was that?! Did he just say she was free to go now?!
“E-excuse me?” she asked.
Murasaki looked at her, “I said you were free to go. Tell your friends of your new gift. Just don’t tell the cops.” He smirked, “Though being a member of team skull…I find it to be unlikely that you would.” He chuckled.” He then placed his arms behind his back. He walked over to lab door, pressing his hand against the scanner to open it for her. “There you go. Aidan will show you the way out.” Aidan walked out of the room before causally leaning against the door with a smile. “Come on.”
Regi was not buying that, they wouldn’t manhandle her this much and do so much against her will just to let her go like this. She was suspecting it was a trap. Then again, she had powers, now. There was nothing to fear.
“Um… Let’s go, Cherri.” said Regi, warily. Cherri jumped onto her trainer’s shoulder, letting her walk close to Aidan.
Aidan glanced over to her with a smile, “Now we’re equals! I’m sure your friends in team skull will love to be equal too! Who wouldn’t want to be the same!” He seemed almost like a different person. Like he was talking to one of his Pokémon friends instead of a human.
“Yeah, but…” Regi paused. “Was all of that really necessary? I was threatened to come here, against my will.” she said, sounding sour and serious.
Aidan looked over to her, “Well, no one will come to us willingly. Especially after what happened in Kanto.” Aidan walked out of the building with her.
!!!
Regi became intrigued.
“Kanto? What do you mean what happened in Kanto?” Regi inquired. Cherri seemed curious as well, she and her trainer were from Kanto, after all.
Aidan suddenly stopped short, “Uuuh. Well. Murasaki…he sorta lost it. I don’t know if I talk about it really…it was really bad.”
“I want to know.” Regi insisted. After all she and her Pokémon went through, she deserved to know.
“Well...the Rangers kept sticking their heads in our business. At first it was simple Pokémon battles to get them off our tail...but....they were persistent. One of them stole murasaki’s research.” He continued as he walked back toward the ferry, “And so we raided their headquarters and managed to capture half of them. Their leader included and a kid that was with them. How were we supposed to know that kid was the Leander’s son....so Murasaki locked them in a room with an HD tv and had it on so they could watch whatever. He was making their stay comfortable. That was a lie. It was obvious. All the rangers locked in the room with a tv except their leader.” He hopped up on a stone and looked at her, “Murasaki created a live broadcast all over the kanto region. A warning to back the hell off. The finishing touch. Their beloved leader with his throat slashed. I felt bad for the kid...honestly we don’t talk about it cause Murasaki doesn’t want us to. We moved to Alola to forget about the Kanto incident.”
