i don't know if i loved heated rivalry book one but i did devour the entire thing in about 4 hours when these days i usually can only get through 50 pages max of a book at a time so if nothing else i definitely enjoyed it

ok #mythoughts... i don't think it's necessarily a Great book — it's almost Too focused on shane-and-ilya and in forgoing so much of their individual lives it ends up feeling a liiittle superficial. we're seeing these guys go like 7 years. they're growing up! but we don't necessarily see that individual development or the shape of their lives outside of one another. i know reid was trying to make a point through ryan price but it felt like that never went anywhere and never got anywhere past the surface and i was kind of left wondering whether it was necessary to include him. HOWEVER i think this is what makes it translate so well to screen. at heart i think the story wanted to be a screenplay but got expressed as a novel
