Little Elin’s Big Adventure to the Boulder Organic! Factory
At Boulder Organic! we pride ourselves on being transparent about what goes into our soup and how it’s made. As our Marketing Director, Jen-ai, has expressed, “We love to have employees show the soup factory to their families and feel proud of their work and workplace!”
Recently our Finance Director, Greg, gave his wife and daughter an exclusive tour of the factory. The trip was quite a thrilling adventure for his 2-year-old daughter, Elin.
“Daddy soup, daddy soup!” she exclaimed after bounding across the parking lot as quick as she could.
With number crunching beyond Elin’s grasp, she only had a vague notion of what her daddy did while he was at work.
“She thought that I just made soup all day,” chuckled Greg.
Greg couldn’t be more proud of working for Boulder Organic!. He expressed that his love for the practices the company puts in motion, including a good work-life balance, encouraging work environment, and a foundation set around a healthy lifestyle brings him a great sense of satisfaction.
“This is a great company to work for and very family friendly. A lot of energy goes into creating healthy, organic and tasty soups,” he explained. “It’s a great reminder that what we do here makes a difference and an impact.”
Though Elin is far too young to understand the importance of all our practices, she is already a fan of our soup; her favorites being the classic Roasted Tomato Basil and Garden Minestrone.
With a smock and hairnet (many sizes too big for her head) in place, she was able to enter the production facility. Giddy with excitement, she insisted that her dad wear a blue hairnet to match hers.
The hairnet wasn’t the only thing that appeared massive to the young girl. Upon entering the facility, her eyes widened in amazement. Barrels of veggies lined the isles in the process of being prepped for shipment. Though she was a little nervous to step into our large refrigerators (keeping the veggies fresh,) Elin did get a taste of the soup mixing action. She enjoyed watching the team cook up some Green Chile Corn Chowder and package it to ship out to our happy customers.
Though Elin is a bit young to fully understand the process that goes into making our soups as fresh, nourishing, and great tasting as they are, her exposure to healthy food through tending the family garden has given her a greater appreciation for the work her dad does. Especially when he brings homes packages of new Boulder Organic! soup for dinner!
As a clean-eating enthusiast, Greg implored, “People think eating organic is expensive, but it really isn’t. You just have to be smart about what you get and where you get it.”
He shared further; “There’s a lot of hard work that goes into making the product and helping bring good to the masses. Our mission “Make Soup Better” is an easy thing to grasp…it’s very rewarding and a cool thing to know that we made it all right here in Boulder.”
Boulder is a community of people who often elect to live a healthy lifestyle – and hope to inspire others to do the same. At Boulder Organic!, we are on a mission to “Make Soup Better,” by bringing quality organic food to the masses, one soup at a time!
