In honor of St. Patrick's Day, this seemed appropriate. Plus it's one of Dyro's best songs.

These are the best house songs of 2013 in my opinion. There's a little bit of progressive, a little electro, and some tech house…. Enjoy!
I've gotta hand it to Mercer- first his colab with Alvaro & Lil Jon, and then this song is sick. He did a podcast for Dancing Astronaut a few weeks back that impressed me, to say the least. The first couple songs were all his, some unreleased. He's definitely got that heavier sound; so progressive fans, look elsewhere.
#MustSees
Laundry list of sets I haven't seen, and need to:
Firebeatz
Dyro
Dannic (or Dyro and Dannic)
Showtek
Hard Rock Sofa
Jewelz and Scott Sparks
Fehrplay
Deniz Koyu
Bassjackers
Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano
Nom de Strip (Just missed my chance too.)
Alvero
Quintino
Kill the Buzz
I think that covers it.
Gotta give a shout out to this song even though it's so incredibly old. I have to hand it to Krewella- I thought I wouldn't like them and started out not really because of their dub step-sounding music. I've been very impressed by their sets and the remixes that come out of their songs. I can't wait to see more of them because they never fail to impress me live.
John Dahlback is awesome. For his age, he's got so many hits and remixes under his belt. If you've ever seen him perform, his energy is so compelling too. It's so easy to enjoy him both under and over the influence. I love that he can go from electro back to tech house, and give a great set under both of those genres and even go back and forth live. Check him out!
Just do it. Still haven't had the pleasure of seeing Showtek live. Luckily, they've been in Miami at least 3 times this past year (maybe more) and they'll be back next month. YEAH, THAT'S HOW WE DO.
Once again Hardwell's label mates kill it. Some of his recent tracks have become hit or miss- but Dannic still has the high energy, electro house that I love. Enjoy!
The younger EDM fans should be encouraged to experience a set (or festival day) sober and take in the event without the ecstasy sugarcoating. A lot of people don't realize how amazing a set can be if you're not busy violating other's personal space with that increasingly popular question. The common misconception among young people is that they're going to have this life changing experience when they pair house music and drugs or that they're missing out when they're not "rolling." Because of the lack of anonymity here, I'll limit what I say to this: I'm not a veteran raver, but EDM has been a huge part of my life since I was a teenager and could probably give some music journalists a run for their money on the topic. It's rare that I experience a set that I didn't enjoy or appreciate. The combination of music, lights, visuals, people, and maybe a vodka Red Bull or two if (like me) you're human and get tired from hours of dancing. With that said, sober euphoric experiences can be as fun as those coated with a drug-induced high, and house music is ANYTHING but boring in ANY state of mind. If you decide you want to do drugs, get educated, talk to people, say a prayer, and prepare for the worst. Have fun- but know there are plenty (maybe even bearing shades) that are having just as much fun without putting their criminal records (at best) or lives at risk. My experiences and continuous love for house music are credible evidence of that.
My opinion on the drug use stigma on house music. I originally commented on an EDM site's editorial about the Electric Zoo fiasco. After I left it I thought I would share it here too. I'm not exactly innocent by any means, but as a 6-year Ultra patron (among other festivals and nightclub sets) and an early adapter of this most recent wave of EDM popularity (Anyone remember Raindrops?) I have a little bit of credible insight on pairing drugs with music festivals. RIP to the two that lost their lives. Hopefully they had a few life altering moments at E Zoo before they're lives were ended too soon.
There's a reason why EVERYONE adds this song to their set... it's still good a year later.
I will say this- this song is over 2 years old. I just heard it on Daftastic Radio a few weeks ago though, and even then Dyro had the same sound. He isn't just about high-energy sets, his music (HIS music, not collaborations) makes me want to dance on a beach in Ibiza.
Hiatus
Had an accidental hiatus thanks to work. Back with the best music shortly.
This is the song my blog is named after. It's one of my favorite songs of the year by one of my favorite new DJ's- Kill the Buzz. He's on Hardwell's label, so you already know he's good. I think I heard it first back in February.. I can't really remember. I liked his song Party Hard first though, and then I discovered this one. If you can find the full song somewhere, definitely check it out.
5 Songs Turned Masterpieces Thanks to Dada Life
I may be biased because I think Dada Life are musical geniuses. They have a distinct sound, original sets, and seem to recreate already successful songs into "the best song I've ever heard". Every. Single. Time.
Word to the bananas and their remixes of these songs:
1. Llove - Kaskade
I continue to hear this song to some degree in multiple sets. It doesn't get old. Neither does my uncontrollable fist pumping.
2. Big Bad Wolf - Duck Sauce
How Dada Life made this song go from good to insane with a slightly different bpm is crazy. It doesn't even sound the same, yet it's impossible not to dance for this song.
3. Dynasty - Kaskade
Ear orgasm. Enough said.
4. Alcoholic - Tim Berg
I fell in love the first time I watched them perform this at Ultra Music Festival in 2011. YouTube it. To this day, it's the most eclectic set I've ever seen.
5. Prutataa - Afrojack & R3hab
Not going to lie, my friends and I partially enjoyed this song because of the name- similar to our how amusing we found Awooga, Knas, Conscindo, Bangduck, etc. Songs with ridiculous names. It has the Dada sound we all know and love, and it's awesome.
Before the Masquerades and Every Teardrop and One... this was a house music jewel in its heyday.
I can't not mention this throwback song that was released this week only four years ago, before 'Swedish House Mafia' had released anything. Swedish opened with this song in their first Main Stage appearance together at Ultra Music Festival in 2010. That was one of my first tastes of what an energetic set should sound and look like, and I became addicted!
Find it on YouTube. It's epic!
Throwback track of the week is Deniz Koyu's Tung! released on Beatport two years ago today. I can remember a time where everyone incorporated this song into their set- and how could you not? Such a signature track...
