The cool night air was calm. But somewhere deep inside the mind of the banshee there was a storm brewing just beneath the surface. Things in town weren’t always going to stay like this. Eventually it was bound to get ugly. Despite the new moves she had developed Lydia was still inexperienced when it came to following the voices. Unable to pinpoint when and where these things would change she noticed the shadow of a man standing directly behind her “Y—- You” she called out softly. Voice shaking as it sounded out like a hushed whisper as she turned and her eyes caught on the silhouette of the man seeking refuge in darkness. “Who are you…” The redhead approached him closer with caution as each fiber in her being sparked and the short fuses burned down to ignite her skin. Coaxing the screams as she shivered lightly and her blood ran cold “W—What are you?”
Damon was wandering in the dark after his fight with Elena, and he was tossing back in forth the thought of taking feeding on someone until he couldn’t breath anymore. He felt as though he couldn’t be a good vampire without Elena, and he knew getting over her was damn near impossible, because he knew she was the love of her life-- or at least he thought. The night air was calm and cool as Damon stalked his prey. Something was unexpected about the girl with strawberry blonde hair that Damon was unaware of. Damon didn’t know what to expect when the girl turned around and called out to him. He didn’t know how she knew he was there, but he try to pretend to be a normal guy as he stepped out of the shadows, “Me?” He question with such concern as he looked at her. It was her next question that set curiosity throughout his skin as he answer with such proudness. “You already know what I am. Just say it.” Before he knew it he was turning into the monster that Katherine had made him. The veins flowing down below his eyes as his eyes themselves turned a bloodshot color. Just as quickly as they appeared they disappeared for Damon sense there was something about her that he needed to find out.
“How do you know what I am?” He questioned raising his left eyebrow in curiosity.
Elena couldn’t lie that when she saw Damon every single fibre in her body felt electric. She could almost picture their last moments of happiness before all Hell broke loose…almost. The last thing she clearly remembered was packing her things & leaving Mystic Falls. Her break up with Damon wasn’t exactly a break up, but simply just a break. There wasn’t any crying & they both knew that it was for the best. No distractiong, just keeping everyone around them alive. Gilbert had zoned out, but when Damon took his hand in hers, she squeezed it on instinct.
“Wh-what’s wrong, Damon? Don’t tell me something bad happened to them…or…is it you? Are you okay? Damon, come on…it’s me. Tell me.”
Elena froze & for a good ten seconds only blinked rapidly. How was it possible not to know where they were? They weren’t dogs, they were breathing & living human beings! Gilbert pulled her hand away from his and slapped him across the face. She couldn’t care less about the other people in the Grill.
“ONE THING! I asked you of one LITTLE thing, Damon! How could you lose Matt & Jer? How could you…how…Damon…THIS is why it was best for us to stay apart! THIS!”
Damon loved Elena, and he knew that it was impossible for him to be a good being without her. She was his humanity, and without her he couldn’t help but feel empty, and he remembered the last moments they spent together. There last kiss, and the passion he knew they both felt. He looked at the love of his life, and when she squeezed his it felt all too perfect to ruin the moment, but he knew what must be done. Her reaction to what he told her hurt his undead heart. The slap didn’t hurt him physically, but the emotional turmoil that he was feeling was to much for him to handle. He quickly looked around to see if the whole grill was looking at them, and then he turned to look back at her. “The reason I left them behind was because I found out what you and Caroline were up too.” Damon paused, “Going to see Klaus when your human again Elena. You do realize that he’s going to use you for as blood bag again to make himself another liter of those hybrid. I asked Bonnie to look after them for me so I could stop you from doing something incredibly stupid like getting yourself killed.”
“Elena I am sure they are okay. It doesn't have to be this way. I love you Elena, and I am selfish , and all I want is for you to be happy, and if that is without me then I’ll just have to try and live with that, but I can’t be a good person without you.”
“Are you one of those adrenaline junkies? That’s not an attractive habit to have if that is the case.” Allison retorted sharply, her delicate features pursing up into that of a smirk. “You don’t know what an ‘uber’ is? To think I thought I was having a hard time.” She hadn’t meant for that last part to slip, but oh well it was out there now. “It’s a taxi so to speak.” Allison explained with little interest, she wasn’t even sure why she was wasting her time with him. But something had her senses on full alert.
Damon looked at the girl with a smile on his face,”I guess you could call it that, and I know what an uber is. I was just making sure you did,” he said smiling at Allison there was something about her that reminded him of herself, and it wasn’t until he thought about what she said that he realized something was quite off with this Allison, “What do you mean by hard time? Maybe I can help,” Damon suggested as he raised a brow.

“Great” Jeremy huffed under his breath as a certain vampire drifted into his line of sight. “Damon—-” He said boldly, rolling his eyes as he wiped his hands on his slacks. “So you made it out alive?” Looking back to the dick of a boyfriend his sister had ended up with on and off again for the past couple years. He sighed “Can’t say I’m entirely glad about that… Have you managed to find Stefan yet? He’s off his rocker, and I can’t just let him kill innocent people. If you don’t take care of him then I will”
Damon wasn’t shocked by Jeremy lack of excitement to be seeing him, considering he had dated his sister. Everyone looked at Damon as the bad brother which didn’t bother Damon he actually sorta enjoyed it. “It’s nice to see you too Jeremy, Your sister will be happy to see you. Can’t say for myself that I am, but as long as she is happy then I am,” Damon said ignoring the young hunters remarks about him. “Leave my brother to me, I’ll take care of him. If you remember correctly then this isn’t the first time that Stefan has been off his rocker, and Caroline and me will bring him back once again.”
“I didn’t.” Taylor said and her hazel eyes tightened as she looked at the dark haired stranger. “Mystic Falls..” Taylor finally said and gave him a glum look, not really appreciating the rehash of where she used to live. The pain from losing her hometown still haunted her even after everything that had happened.
Damon stared at her as he could tell that he hit a sore spot with the girl, as he stared at him he remember a guy back in Mystic Falls who had a sister named Taylor. Damon looked at Taylor That was standing at his doorstep of his Apartment. She looked as if she was about to burst into tears. If she was one of the ones that Donovan saved from the city collapsing, Damon thought it was well not worth it. “Okay Let's skip the water works and you start explaining to me why you're here?”
Elena was so predictable sometimes. It wasn’t as often as one would think, but it did happen & of course, Damon knew her well enough to know what she would do, when she’d do it & so on. There was a place opened in New Orleans, exactly like the Mystic Grill back in Mystic Falls & Elena couldn’t help herself but go there. Memories overcome her as she sat on one of the tables, just looking around. Her life used to be so simple a few years ago, everything used to be so clear. She was digging into her plate, taking a fry after fry, just staring at her burger. It wasn’t the same, no matter how hard she tried to make it look like it. Nothing was the same. She was lost in thought, when Damon brought her back to reality. She hadn’t seen him for way too long, but the moment she laid her eyes on him a wave of guilt hit her. She had kissed someone else & that gave her no peace. Her breath hitched in her throat & for a moment there she thought she’d pass out.
“Damon…I…I thought you were protecting Matt & Jer, I preferred not to distract you. You’re here now, which means they are fine, right? You took care of Jer, right?”
Damon knew what was going to happen. He was going to tell her the truth about how he didn’t know where they were at. Damon was sure that they both were okay. He could tell that there was something wrong her, but he didn’t know what it was. “Elena,” he paused as he went to grab for her hand, holding it firmly within his. “I have something to tell you.” Damon didn’t know how he was going to tell her this. He knew this was going to start a fight, and he wasn’t going to be able to handle this. He knew he must not have been good enough for her. He didn’t even do the one thing that she had asked him to do. Which was take care of her little brother, and her eldest friend. “I am just going to get straight to the point Elena. I don’t know where Matt and Jeremy are.” He said as he could feel the words coming out of his mouth. Falling in love again was a mistake, and probably the worse one at that. Nothing could compare to the third degree that he was going to get for this one.
@fragilexhuman
The daylight shine down through the streets in the Crescent City as Damon was in search for Elena Gilbert. He hadn’t seen her in such a long time. He feared that she might have erased him from her memory again. He couldn’t bare that thought, so he pushed it out his mind.for a moment. As he walked down the French Quarter he noticed a familiar place that must have recently pop up in New Orleans which was the Mystic Grill. He figured he would go in there, and take a chance of potentially seeing Elena in there. If Damon knew Elena as well as he thought he did, then he knew she would be running to the first place that would remind her of home. He busted through the door, and realized the setup was extremely close to the one that had formerly been in there hometown. Everything from the color of the walls to the seating of the table, and last the bar setup. He seen Elena sitting in the back indulging in food of sorts. He took his time making his way to her as the thought of what he should say to her. He hadn’t seen Bonnie or Matt or even Jeremy since they relocated to New Orleans. The one thing that seem to stick in his mind was the fact that she had not even tried calling him. He quickly slid into the booth across from her. She was just as beautiful as he remembered.
“Elena I’m in shock that you haven’t tried to call me after what happened in Mystic Falls. It sorta hurts me here.” He said slightly sarcastic as he put his hand on his chest where his heart was as he raised his left eyebrow up.
Katherine hadn’t been paying much attention to everything going on around her. The fact that she hadn’t found much answers to where Stefan was, kept stressing her out, and she wanted to find some type of answer to why he had turned it off, yet she hadn’t. It was as soon as she turned to look at the person who was approaching the brunette, in which her eyes turned black, her tongue tracing her bottom lip for a second just before the darkness left her irises, but the male one which she hadn’t seen in a while looked as if he had noticed, considering that her name left his lips. “Damon.” She spoke, her head tilting to the side and a small smirk was adorning the girl’s features, yet at his question it soon faded. “I would have guessed that the first thing you’d ask me would be something different. Like an how are you?” She told him, completely avoiding the question he had asked her. Honestly she didn’t want to talk about anything which had to do with hell, just to leave everyone wondering how the hell she had gotten back. “I heard your brother turned off his humanity. What happened to our good old Stefan?”
Damon stared at Katherine with his blue eyes, and so many thought came flowing through his head. Damon was a vampire because of her, and he couldn’t help but enjoy the thought of her demise, and seeing her standing in front of her a little less dead then he would have loved for her to be. He did remember how much he did love at one point and he remember how he thought she was locked up in the tomb, but the fact that she had admitted that if was always Stefan that she loved, and he was left in the dust until Elena began falling for him, and now he couldn’t be anymore happier, and just seeing Katherine in front of him annoyed him. She was constantly fighting death refusing to die. It was like she was always going to come back just to remind him about his mistakes that was loving her as he did. Damon watched as her head tilted to the side and a small smirk was spread across her face. “You would think, but to tell you the truth Katherine I could careless how you are. Every time that you're around something goes wrong.” Damon said as his mind fluttered on the question that she had asked about Stefan and why he turned it off. That of which was unknown to Damon, but he planned on finding out so he could figure out a way to bring his brother back, but he hadn’t came across him, and he needed to know that Elena was alright first. He couldn’t bear the thought of her being less than that.
“Yeah he did, but I’m not going to tell you why.” He said giving her a smirk, “Family matter I know you wouldn’t understand.” He said with a smile on his face. I knew that this would dig deep down into her bones, but that was what he was going for. After all this time Damon still wanted to hurt her for the way she did him for his brother.
Allison’s jaw tightened at the word ‘wolves’ though she tried to keep her expression neutral. “There isn’t a large difference between those two, Damon.” Allison retorted, her voice catching on his name though it was more sarcastic than suspicious. “Besides, if you’re drunk you can’t really protect yourself. Your reflexes are a lot slower than normal.” Allison was simply sating facts as she took a couple of steps towards him, she didn’t know what pulled out her confidence, but it was there now. “Maybe I should call you an uber.”
Damon couldn’t help but feel that Allison knew something more than what she was leading on, by the way her jaw tightened by the the word he used— wolves. “There really isn’t if you want to get technical Allison. ” her name casually rolled off his tongue, “All three of those are predatory species.” Damon said as he looked into her brown eyes again. He could tell by the way she said his name that she was being sarcastic. “You would be surprised by what I can do when I am drunk Allison. Reflexes have nothing to with it.” He said as he noticed that she was stepping closer to him. “I don’t think I know what you mean Allison. Would you be more specific.” He said as he stepped a little closer to her to where he was standing directly in front of her, but he didn’t move her eyes from her. He could tell there was something different with her, but he couldn’t tell what it was.
“Predators? Like..bears or..?” Allison was being dangerously coy, but her confidence was quite high above the current situation. Her voice was calm, soft, friendly even. But on the inside there was a coil tensed and ready to snap if need be for her to protect herself. Something her friends may call paranoia but Allison viewed it as being cautious, she had been overly cautious since she had been revived from the dead. She didn’t want to die again – not anytime soon at least. “Can you.” Her gentle eyebrows pulled together as she assessed his current body language. He seemed stable but she knew how a drunk could possibly be, dangerous or hilarious there usually was never an inbetween. “Allison.” The brunette flashed him a sweet smile but it soon vanished as her lips slipped back into a blank, yet curious expression. Why would a random, drunk stranger care about someone elses well-beings? It didn’t make any sense to her, so her brown eyes tightened.
“Not exact..” he said before cutting himself off. He was unsure if she knew about supernatural, and he wanted to keep it from her if possible. “Yes, your exactly right bears, coyotes, and wolves.” he said smiling at her. He knew from personal experience with Elena, and that was once you were told about supernatural you are against your will drug into the drama that comes around with it. “Yes I can Allison I’m drunk not wasted.” His could sense there was tension with this girl like she knew was something was off about him. He wasn’t going to let her know what he was.
“That might have saved me from a mini heart-attack..” Taylor said softly, her right hand moving across her chest and resting over her beating organ. Taylor closed her eyes and took a small breath of air, the lashes fluttering open once again. “Taylor.” She said softly, a small smirk going across her face. It was supposed to be a small smile, but the way his eyes glared into hers and she crinkled her nose at him. “What’re you doing here?”
“But where is the fun in that?” Damon question as he looked her up and down. He didn’t seem to know her, but see looked slightly familiar . “You look exceptionally familiar. Where was it you said you were from?” he questioned as he blue eyes continuously stared her down. He eyes advert to the door that he was standing at as she questioned about what he was doing at the door, “I live here,” he retorted as he rolled his eyes slightly.
“Oh my god!” Taylor gasped and felt her heart jump out of her chest as she was startled. “You scared the crap out of me!” She exclaimed and shook her head, hazel eyes widening.
Damon looked at the young nameless girl as if she was going crazy. He tend to do that to people, make them crazy. “I apologize, I should have made my presence known sooner. I’m Damon.” he said as he gave her a slight smile his blue eyes glaring into hers.

Allison tilted her head to the side and she swore she smelled the hint of liquor emanating from him. As he moved closer to her the brown of her eyes moved up and down his physic and she pursed her lips as he spoke. Clearly she could tell her was intoxicated she just wasn’t aware of the specifics. “Well then I’d hate to be them.” Allison said, her voice remarkably calm. It was from her Argent training she knew how to play it cool in situations like these, especially when there was something hidden behind the crystal piercing in those blue eyes. “Why can’t a girl like me be out this late?” Allison retorted a delicate brow raising as he questioned her. To his warning about the town her lip wanted to curl up into a smirk but she didn’t let it. “Is there a lot of broody criminals around here?” Allison asked with a slight head tilt and a small shrug of her slim shoulders. “Besides you’re alone.” She pointed out as if to say why should he be concerned for her if it was so dangerous.
Damon could tell that his breath smelled of alcohol, but it didn’t matter he could careless about the matter at that point. Once he had moved closer he noticed that she was checking out his physic. He might have pursued it, but Elena Gilbert was still embedded in his brain like a non cancerous tumor. “What makes you so different from them?” he laughed slightly as he noticed she was remarkably calm about it. “Well for one thing it isn’t safe there are a lot of predators around these streets.” he said secretly referring to Stefan and himself. He knew that it would be such a tragedy if she had ran into Stefan instead of him. Normally Damon himself was the one you had to watch out for. Damon was normally referred to as the bad brother. “I can handle myself,” he said as his piercing blue eyes penetrating into her dark chocolate ones. “I’m Damon,” he said as he continued looking at her. Damon didn’t have a reason for trying to make her go home out of the dark streets other than he was intoxicated at the moment, but he couldn’t help but want her to get out of his sight encase he got a craving.
It was late and Allison was lost in New Orleans, her pride was to strong to go and ask anyone for help. After all she had assured her father that she was doing alright and adjusting well to being back tot he land of the living again. Turns out apparently that wasn’t so true as she was lost in the alley ways of the town. Her hunter instincts were high as it seemed a lot of supernatural creatures were out at night. Her hopes for running into someone she knew was killed once she found herself in an encounter with a male with piercing blue eyes. His words made it very clear he wasn’t friendly so Allison stepped into the street light to show herself clearly. illuminating her silhouette. “I would appreciate you not ripping me apart..” Allison said softly, though she wasn’t all that unprepared. Something she learned from Beacon Hills was never to walk around completely defenseless.
Damon was in shock when the person stepped out to show themselves. To his surprise it was a defensive little girl of which he didn’t have time for. He was drunk, and needed to find Elena. He stepped closer, but just enough to see her eyes. “Ah, I didn’t mean that. I thought you were someone else." he lied,"What is a girl like you doing out this late anyway?” He said as he looked her deep in her eyes, “This town isn’t safe to be wondering it alone.” Damon looked her over, and he noticed that she looked about high school or college age, but she looked like she was disoriented.
@chaxticpetrxva
Damon was in search of Elena. His undead heart pounding at the thought of not being able to find her. His promise he made to her broken like a glass that a ball was thrown through. She didn’t even know yet. The thought of Bonnie flooded through his mind as well. He hoped she was okay. That's all he wanted at that point was everyone to be okay. He had quite a bit to do as well as finding his brother, and helping him find his humanity. It wasn’t until he seen a shadow standing in front of him. He moved closer to it, and it was Elena or so he thought for a moment until he noticed the girl had black eyes unlike Elena doe brown ones. “Kathrine,” he said in shock, “How did you manage to claw yourself out of the depths of hell?” He questioned as his left eyebrow had risen to his question, and a smirk placed sideways on his face.
It was way past the witching hour as Damon stumbled out of Bronze, on the verge of being plastered. He looked out onto the French Quarter as unknown bodies scurried down the streets. He had only one thought on his mind besides finding himself a place to crash, and that was Elena, he had just arrived back in the Crescent City without Matt or Jeremy, and he knew Elena would have hell to pay over this. He had also wondered where his brother Stefan was at seeing that he hadn’t seen him in quite awhile. He wondered if he started feeding the locals yets, but by the lack of trails of dead bodies on the streets that Stefan had been watching his steps when it came to feeding. Damon wondered down the streets in search of a familiar face, but unfortunately found none. That was until he seen something shuffling in the alley by a bunch of dumpsters.
“I don’t know who you are, but I could rip you apart in seconds if you don’t show yourself.”/small>
