So I am NOT writing Nyssa on the Waverider… (Yet).
But I had a great Headcanon for it today:
Nyssa would last all of one mission with the Waverider crew before she would institute an immediate and mandatory “Daily Superhero Fighting Skills” class.
Sara has been fairly polite, offering training or tips when asked, but Nyssa is blunt. “I cannot go into battle again with ANY of you but Sara until you actually learn to fight. And as a unit.”
Cause apart from Sara, they all rely on superpowers or fancy tech.
It would start with Ray. “Mr. Palmer, your suit is a tool, not the source of your power. You must learn to fight and then let the suit become an extension of you.”
Ray: “hey Oliver said that to me once.”
Nyssa: “I suppose Mr. Queen cannot be wrong every single time he opens his mouth.”
Kendra she would be impressed by, but she would need her to practice more, expand on her abilities, which are still, pardon the pun, fledgling.
“Jefferson, you too must learn to fight without your powers first. You as well, Professor. In fact, you’ll need to learn to fight together. You will be tied together at all times.”
“You are not immune either, Mr. Snart. Mr. Rory at least has considerable bulk and raw brawling powers. You’re rather… Scrawny. And useless without the gun.”
[Sara is laughing so hard at this point, just DELIGHTED by the circumstance and by Nyssa being back in her life. She’s holding her gut and shaking her head if anyone looks to her for help.]
“And don’t think that you are immune, either, Captain. I do not know what is taught in time master school, but you could certainly use a refresher course.”
“Fight skills training begins in 12 hours precisely.
Do what you think you must to prepare. It will not be adequate. Come along, habibti.”
And that is how the Legends start becoming a well-oiled team and not just a bunch of super powered brawlers.
[But Sara and Mick are still allowed to get in bar fights from time to time.]
