I already made a part 1 where I shared a lot of stuff I found interesting from the comics, mainly focused on Will (and Byler). But I have more pictures now so here's some more interesting panels/details! I give more context for the comics and some of the points in part 1
Side note: Idk how canon these comics are, I've seen some of them be called "soft canon" but I don't know how true that is or if it applies to all of these. But having read through all these comics I mention, imo they all fit with canon very well and I only noticed a couple minor details that that contradict the show
The Other Side: In the first part I mention how in The Other Side comic, Will's interactions with lights and the UD are weird compared to what other characters experienced in the show but i forgot to mention how weird music is in this too!!
-I've always hated those fans that thought Will was weak or that all he did was hide while in the UD (before the season 5 first 5 min of episode 1) because Will has always been badass!! he shoots the Demogorgon multiple times AND saves Joyce and Nancy
-another small detail that always bothered me that people don't know about, is that Will didn't stay hidden at his house/castle byers! My boy goes on all around town including to Mike's house, the cemetery, and the Harrington house
-for more weird light stuff, Will is there when the search party is looking for him and this is what Will sees
-Will's control over the stuff we saw in the show is really interesting. When Joyce gets the call from him the first time, he's actually speaking through his walkie talkie.
-first instance of weird music stuff I noticed was that Will doesn't appear to do anything to make The Clash start playing. He's confused about it playing as well, but it doesn't show WHY the music starts?
-poor guy :( the demogorgon shows up at his house so he hides, but nothing happens and the line says it's not there for Will??? This line stuck out to me as weird, the Demogorgon just hangs out at the Byers for fun or...
-more weird light/powers stuff. Will blinks to control the lights and also I'm curious about why the light visual is rainbow here when in the Rightside, Joyce's lights are just white and it's not the gold particles we see in the show either
-Here's Will finding Barb's glasses. (He heard her scream and went to go help but only found these. He later feels guilty about not saving Barb)
-I'm prob not the first to point this out but considering what we know about music saving people later in the series, it's cool to remember in season 1 how right before Joyce sees Will in the weird wall gate, she starts playing The Clash for him. And in this comic Will is woken up from hearing the song play and it leads him to the wall gate from his end. idk I just like how it ties back to later seasons
-Will goes to Mike's basement and hears about his body being found in the Rightside
-Will spells out "not dead" but no one sees. Also the letters are all glowing and some have a weird colorful glow? so more Will and light stuff for the theorists
-Will briefly hides in a tunnel that seems to be the same tunnel El escaped the lab through?? Idk for sure if it's the same one
-Here's Will hiding in the cemetery :( All the while he hears snippets of some sermon (?). I'm guessing he's hearing his own funeral since he's in the cemetery but afaik the words don't match to the show. Otherwise I guess it would be a different funeral, I don't know of any regular church services that happen in a cemetery. I'm also unsure how I feel about this, Will says the words comfort him and idk, if religion is being brought up I want it to be more nuanced (especially since Will is gay). Instead it kinda comes off as preachy?
-Here's the scene I mention in part 1 when Lonnie is covering the hole. This was crazy. I'm dying to know why Will still saw the gate and no one else did?? This wall gate haunts me forever. Also after the panel below Will breaks a chair and uses it to try and break through the gate while the comic repeats the lines said at Will's funeral. Just kill me omfg
-When Nancy enters the UD, Will sees a bright light??? I'm not entirely sure, but I think the light is the gate Nancy entered through? It doesn't say whether or not the others see the light. But this light guides Will to find Nancy and the portal
-Here's is Will saving Nancy. after this panel he tries to run to the gate but he just misses it (like Max in s5)
-we know about how music saves, but the comic says that it's also a beacon??? what??? maybe it's nothing but it stuck with me, since it's Will singing softly so idk how he was heard or how it would be a beacon

-Here's what Will sees when he wakes up in the library. AND THEY REFERENCE THE SONG TO HIM??? no way this is still Will's favorite song after this...
