It hits you
There are times when some people with differences (or maybe just me) will sometimes think “Maybe it was just in my mind.” “Maybe I’m cured now.” Later, something happens & it hits you: *It’s trying to say “thank you” over the phone, but nothing comes out. * It’s wanting to buy a particular food, but the box contains an odd number, so it’s not right. After several minutes, you can’t make yourself get the food. *It’s walking through an unfamiliar store & everything starts to close in, which causes you to spend 20 minutes in a busy restroom. * It’s lining up items in a store when you planned to just be in & out * It’s experiencing things that happened over 10 years ago as if they just happened today. * It’s going to celebrate a loved one, but feeling sick and overwhelmed because of the environment that so many others love. * It’s ignoring your physical and mental state at an expense because you believe certain people come first at the moment. * It’s looking at an object & thinking about the things you could do with it, but you know you never would. *It’s saying “butter” & phrases out of context for over 10 minutes because your mind keeps going. * It’s jerking, punching, and screaming to the point that you pull over for safety * It’s coming home & having a meltdown while a wannabe puppy crushes your lap & licks your face. * It’s still feeling physical pain after hours of what would seem like nothing & not even knowing why certain areas hurt. Sometimes the universe will be kind for months before it spends 2 days hitting you. At your down points, it can be a comfort to know “tomorrow is a new day with no mistakes in it yet.”
