Q: How long have you been at the agency?
A: I have been with Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens for over five years.
Q: What do you love most about your job?
A: I love working with the older adult population, and being able to provide them with services that matches their daily needs. I see it as helping them live longer, while being able to maintain independence. I work with a very talented staff; they are diligent, dedicated, and very hard working. They feel the same way about CCBQ as I do, with dedication to services provided throughout the neighborhoods of Brooklyn and Queens.
Q: Did you always see yourself in this field?
A: I have always found myself working in the field. I ultimately enjoy the feeling of giving back and helping as much as I can with the elderly. I believe in meeting our services with the population that it serves.
Q: What events have you held in the past few months?
A: We have really been keeping busy this summer between our health fairs, music in the park, and much more. I was also able to facilitate a chronic disease self management and diabetes self management workshop which the older adults enjoyed.
Q: What are your future plans for events?
A: Something that my staff and I have been working on is distribution of flu vaccinations from health care providers. We are focusing on the areas in Sheepshead Bay and by Nostrand Avenue in Brooklyn.
