The best part about this episode, was that we clearly saw 2 mvps in this episode. The obvious MVP: Kailyn. She did absolute insane work to maintain the momentum, even though the process might have been iffy.

The sMVP was ofc, Smooth by Santana itself. It bumped up the blue team so much, that they managed to score 5 points for the first time in the entire fucking game.

Am I crazy? I think that Count the Rice seems quite similar in premise to the movie “The Platform (2019)”. Both consist of desperate people trying to get outta the “game”, and both consist of people utilizing the ability to climb down, and then back up to get the hell out of the “nightmare”.

Even though Maya is an incredible frustrating character at her surface level read, I found Maya Jayashree to be quite relatable(as an Indian kiddo, who grew up in a secluded part of India for a part of their life).

She is an excellent representation of the hospitality, yet extreme sensitivity that a lot of Indians have(especially within the towns), where they tend to be really homely with everyone around them, trying to help them as much as possible, but feel personally hurt if that homelyness isn’t..reciprocated both ways, or the other party stumbles with that reciprocity in one way or another, as this hospitality is used as a tool by them to test the waters.

Honestly, I think City Council of Darkness works so well comedically because Madelaine and LaVonte (until he gave up in the finale in favor of embracing the madness) are the only two members of the Coterie that are actually attempting to play VTM.

Vesper is playing DnD 5e, Darkness Man is playing a hyperviolent version of Masks: The Next Generation, Zaeth is doing all the sidequests in a video game out of order, and HJ is just vamping during a standup set while actively getting tomatoes pelted at him.

Brennen is an excellent DM, but Aabria is just so much more expressive with the worlds that they creates, and the conflicts that the world consists of, that they would be perfect for the season consisting of solving a mystery around a wack ass town filled with weird people, and where the town’s mayor is a dog
