I absolutely love that they did this. The implications of Maul's rage channeling through the force into his saber is such a cool idea that's completely in line with the unique connection to the force he seems to have.

He's intuned and deeply entrenched in the dark side, and it makes sense, he was able to survive mortal injury because of it, but his connection to the force in general is a really cool aspect of his character.

he has visions and premonitions, he's an absolute tank in his force abilities, and he's reverent about his codes and mantras. I would honestly love to get an episode of maul just explaining his philosophy on the force. it's meaningful to him in a way we never really see from other characters, and it would be so fun if we could actually see how he trains an apprentice. He's already come to the conclusion that his master was unnecessarily cruel to him, so he wouldn't train Devon like his master had done to him. It would be a completely new take to the darkside.

He's a sith full of rage, but then he does little ceremonies like meditate over tea

Man, they really just keep making Maul so much cooler. I hope this show actually goes the route of Maul teaching Devon simply for the fact that I would love to see it
