when u bring up misogyny and men say "you can't generalize! not ALL men!" what they really mean is "not ME! i don't do that!" which is a) almost never true and b) okay? so let's say 99% of men participate in misogyny and you are the wonderful 1% that doesn't. why does that mean women should stop talking about misogyny in your presence? how is saying "but i never did that!" a good reason to completely shut down a conversation about people who have done it? because it makes u a bit uncomfy? because i can guarantee that whatever ickiness u feel about being reminded of sexism once in a blue moon is 1/100th of what a woman feels actually facing it in daily life.
