When watching the first episode of the magicians, I saw so much of myself in julia. I know I say that I watch the show for its plot and cinematography (which is true) but what really got me was her perhaps ~downward spiral~ after being rejected from brakebills

I love both Quentin/Alice and Penny/Kady so much even though they seem to be most underappreciated ships in the fandom despite being canon. Both ships went through the worst and yet never stopped loving each other. I'm definitely grateful for how carefully the writers have crafted their stories and how unless something destructive happens, both ships will continue to be a constant on this show.

I feel like people undervalue Quentin Coldwater. A lot of fans seem to dislike him as a narrator and think he's weak but consider: 1) Quentin is doing the best he can in a near-impossible situation while dealing with a mental illness that causes you to literally not be able to leave your bed some days 2) Has gone to great lengths to help his friends (giving up the button for Julia, finding a cure for the Virgo blade for Penny, doing all he can to help Alice feel human again. Q is a decent man.

I like Fen. Mostly because in spite of everything she cares so much for her home and for Eliot. She would do anything to see him happy. Even though it was under odd circumstances when they had sex, the look in her face seeing she was pleasing Eliot was pure ecstasy. She loves him because she knows he needs it. She loves him because of all his problems and fears and scars in life. I seriously think she helped him. Just as Fillory did by making him king.

I seriously cried when Eliot was saying there might actually be something broken in him. Cried again when he asked about Chatwin's Torrent he blamed liver damage but his face was pure heartache.

I think we've seen maybe 10% of Eliot's backstory. Honestly, so much had to have happened to him to make him feel that he needed to create a whole new persona.
