Howdy all! Here’s a few photos from the Daniels-Barnes session. We planned to all of the photos outside, but Mother Nature didn’t comply. Thank goodness this family lived close—we just took our party inside! Such a loving and warm family—can’t wait to do their outdoor session again (and hopefully no rain) in August!
I had so much fun photographing the Perez family last week at Humboldt Park. Momma is a friend and co-worker of mine, so I was thrilled when she asked me to take some photos of her family. Such and awesomely awesome family! These little guys had sooo much energy and personality--chasing them around the park was definitely the highlight of my weekend!

I'm baaaaack!
It’s been ridiculously long time since my last post. Almost a year. So while it’s customary to apologize for such a long absence, I won’t. I’m not sorry, I’ve been crazy busy. In the last year, we moved from the DC area to Chicago. Gabe celebrated his first birthday— began walking, talking and getting into mucho trouble. Charles started a new job. I started a new job. Sort of tailspin of events.
In addition to all that great news, I’ve got some photos to post! So let’s get to the business of it.

Emily & Jeff: Married!
Who said you needed a ballroom to have an amazingly elegant wedding? This past weekend, I had the pleasure of shooting Emily and Jeff in the backyard of their family home in Great Falls, VA. Everything was stunning, including their vows, which literally made me shed a tear—ok maybe a couple of tears ;) These two rock! Congrats again!

Last week, I met up with Emily and Jeff for their engagement session. Emily and Jeff were in town from NY and we did quick session at their family home in Great Falls, VA. Even with the wedding just three days away and stress levels presumably high, these two found time to play a simple game of catch. I’m no marriage expert, but I do believe that happy couples play together. That’s right-- less doing and more playing. Adulthood has unfortunately become synonymous with paying bills, grocery shopping, budgeting, 401K, diversifying portfolios--yadda yadda yah-- that we often forget to have fun. So thank you Emily and Jeff for the reminder. Let’s hope I remember this as we’re packing up to move to Chicago in a few weeks :)
Julia & Mark: Married!
Julia & Mark were the first of my June weddings-- and what a lovely day it was! There was lots of laughter, a few tears, tons of really great dance moves and a scrumptious wedding cake (if you didn’t know it by now, I’m ALL about the cake). I’m so grateful for the opportunity to be included in their grand celebration. Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. White!
Last week, I made a new friend in Old Town Alexandria. This little princess saw me shooting an engagement session and decided to join in on the fun. What a cutiepatootie!

Last weekend, I met up with Julia and Mark for their e-session at Great Falls. Lucky for us, the weather was perfect and these two were absolutely as cute as could be. Counting down the days until your June wedding!

It's been a while since my last post, but I'm back--and with a new addition--Baby Gabriel! Born January 25, 2011 @ 6:39 a.m. and weighing in at whopping 8 lbs 15 oz. Even though he's been on earth for two months now, I'm still in awe of it all. Yes, I actually I grew a whole PERSON inside my body. And what a lovable, huggable, snuggable, little person he is. Of course, I totally plan on being that annoying mom who can’t/won’t stop posting photos of her baby, so look forward to that ;)
