In which Steve meets a girl that he believes could be the one, only to find out she’s Tony Starks daughter.

Steve walked Charlie and Princess back to the hotel she was currently staying at. Making their way to the front door Steve looked at his watch and noticed that it was 12:15. He had 15 minutes to get back to the coffee shop grab his bike and make it back to the tower. If he ran he might just make it on time for the meeting at 12:30.
“I had a lot of fun today,” Charlie said when they finally stopped at the door standing slightly off to the side so that they weren’t in anyone’s way.
“I did too,” Steve stated with a large grin. He found himself smiling the whole day. Normally he would be stuck thinking about his past and little things that would put a damper on his mood, but today was different. Today all he could think about was the energetic blonde in front of him that stole all of his attention.
“I’d ask you to come in but you have that meeting,” Charlie said almost shyly as she looked away with a light blush on her cheeks.
“I’d say yes too if I didn’t have it,” He said making her grin widely up at him. Standing on her tippy toes she placed a hand on his cheek while giving him a soft kiss. She planned for it to be short but Steve placed a hand on her waist while pulling her closer to his body. Tilting her head to the side she deepened the kiss while brushing her tongue over his bottom lip. They both pulled away after a moment breathless.
“You sure you have to go to that meeting,” Charlie joked as they stood only inches apart.
“I could be convinced to skip it,” Steve replied without thought earning him a laugh from Charlie.
“mh your bad,” she teased before leaning up and giving him one more kiss. “Bye Steve,” Charlie said as she back up towards the door.
“Bye Charlie,” The large smile on his face stayed as he watched her walk in the building turning on his heals he walked down the street back to the shop with a new skip in his step that made it hard to actually be worried about the meeting. Making it to the coffee shop he got on his bike at 12:25.
Zipping through traffic he made it to the tower and jogged inside to the meeting room. He made it there only 3 minutes late. If he was lucky he might actually not catch any shit for being late. He was always punctual so maybe no one would notice.
They noticed.
As soon as he entered the room all eyes were on him.
“Nice of you to join us Cap,” Tony said slightly annoyed. This meeting was important, well at least to him it was.
“Sorry,” Was all he got in reply, Steve didn’t want to explain he was late because he was so caught up in his girl. His girl? They had one date, Charlie wasn’t his yet. Yet being the key word, because if Steve had it his way then she would be his girlfriend in the next coming weeks.
“And where were you,” Natasha asked, though she knew the answer seeing as she had stalked the couple for a better part of their date for entertainment.
“Out,” was his clipped reply catching the rest of the team’s attention.
“and what does out mean?” Clint questioned now curious.
“He was on a date, coffee and a walk. Old man stuff, now can we get back to the important matter here,” Tony said irritated that no one was taking his meeting seriously. Though he would admit he was pretty curious about how the date went.
“Wait Cap was on a date? With who?” Clint said excitedly. He and Natasha had been scheming to get him a girl for the last month with no such luck.
“he won’t tell us,” Natasha said watching him with a tilt of her head like she was trying to get him to crack.
“Can we please focus,” Tony said impatiently.
“Yes, please Tony go ahead,” Steve stated taking the out.
“Thank you, now the party is in two days and all the preparation is done for it all that’s needed now are for all of you to know the ground rules,”
“Rules for a party?” Thor said confused.
“More like rules concerning my daughter. Rule number being that none of you are to be anything less than kind to her. If I find out that she was anything less than happy I will kill who ever caused her discomfort,” the way Tony said the rule made it seem that he actually was ready to murder anyone that disrupted his daughter’s mood.
“bu-” Bruce started but was interrupted by Tony.
“Save questions and comments till the end please,” he said with a wave of his hand. “Now Rule number two, you are to convince her that living and working with you all is the best thing she could do for herself.”
“Rule number three don’t even think of approaching her romantically. She is too perfect for any of you,” Steve rolled his eyes at that rule unworried. He had his own girl to fawn over.
“Rule number four, if you do approach her romantically I have all rights to maim and kill,”
“Tony the girl is 24, shouldn’t she be able to decide who she dates,” Natasha said incredulously.
“My daughter is a lot of thing, beautiful, kind, funny, a genius. But she has terrible taste in boyfriends. It’s my job to make sure no one unworthy gets to her,”
“I weald the hammer, worthy is kind of my thing,” Thor said cheekily.
“I will shoot you,” Tony said with a glare earning him a hearty laugh from Thor.
“What about Cap?” Nat asked with a raised brow. “He’s got the whole honorable and righteous thing going on,”
“Fine Cap is the only one of you that I won’t kill,” Tony conceded. “Buuuutttt Steve already has a girl so I’m not worried about him,”
“Good to know,” Natasha said with a hidden smirk.
Steve listened to the rest of the meeting for the next hour and a half with little attention. He had taken to texting Charlie under the table when Tony wasn’t paying attention to him.
Charlie had just texted him back with some movie reference he didn’t get which led to her next message.
‘so, your telling me you’ve never seen any of the Twilight movies?’
‘Nope don’t really even know what the plot is to be honest with you’
Steve sent the message and waited for her reply which came in four consecutive messages
‘wtf’ ‘how?’ ‘where have you been’ ‘we have to watch them all now’
Steve tried to hide his grin by biting his lip as he looked up to make sure no one was staring at him.
‘name the time and place’
Steve held his breath as he waited for her reply hoping he wasn’t to forward with her. The last thing he wanted to do was scare her away.
‘would me saying tomorrow at noon my hotel room be too soon or…’
It took everything in him to not throw a fist in the air in victory.
‘I’ll bring the snacks’
‘perfect, then I will see you then’
Steve was smiling at his screen before he heard someone clear their throat.
“Steve would you like to share why you are smiling down at your crotch with the class,” Tony said sarcastically.
“No not particularly,” before anyone could reply to him Natasha had swiped his phone eyes scanning the screen as she held it out of his reach.
“He just secured date number 2,” Nat informed the group before giving him a proud look. “Well done Rogers,” snatching his phone back Steve rolled his eyes as each of the team through little teasing jabs his way for a few more moments.
“Well I have places to be and need to be ready for Charlottes visit in 30 minutes. If any of you would like to meet her early she will be playing in Bruce’s lab,” Tony stated off handedly before dismissing everyone. Steve decided he would just wait for the party as he made his way to the kitchen. Sitting down at the bar he continued to message Charlie
‘so, how’s the meeting going?’ Charlie texted.
‘long and unnecessary but I’m free now’
‘dramatic,’ if Steve imagined hard enough he could hear her voice teasing him.
‘hardly, what about you, what are you up to,’
‘about to head over to meet my dad and a friend of his from work,’
‘sounds fun’
‘hm ya I get to mess with all their stuff, should be great,’
‘don’t sound too excited now’
‘ooh I am don’t you worry your pretty little head Stevie,’
‘you think I’m pretty?’
‘I’m dead,’ Steve froze as he saw the message instantly confused. Was she alright. Had someone taken her phone and killed her. Dread instantly filled him. His enemies could have gotten to her already
‘what? Are you alright?’
‘I’m fine?’
‘but you just said you were dead?’ confusion filled him as he waited with baited breath.
‘ya it’s an expression which means your laughing so hard you might die,’ relief filled him instantly as he realized she was ok.
‘oh’
‘goodness guess I have to teach you all the hip slag while I make you watch movies,’
‘well then I look forward to our lessons’
‘wonderful, well I will talk to you later it’s time for me to head to my dad’s,’
‘have fun doll,’
‘I will😘’
Steve stared at the little emoji that was blowing him a kiss with a little smile.
“Damn you got it bad,” Clint said catching Steve’s attention. He had been so engrossed in his phone that he didn’t notice the rest of the team had followed him in, minus Tony and Bruce. Steve didn’t bother to reply as he pocketed his phone and got up to make himself lunch.
“Steve come on just tell us a little something about the girl, I’m dying here,” Clint practically whined out as he plopped down at the bar infront of him. Natasha took the seat next to him while Thor chose to lean on the end of the counter.
“Why do you want to know so bad?” Steve countered back.
“Because Nat and I have been trying to set you up for weeks with some great girls and you have said no to all of them. Which means two things, one you have incredible high standards, or two your gay,”
“how about option three,” Steve said with a glare. “not interested,”
“Well you seem interested now,” Natasha stated.
“Yes, I have to agree. You were even late for the meeting because you were out with your Lady,” Thor threw in getting nods of agreement from the two master assassins.
“If I tell you about her will you shut up,” Steve finally conceded.
“Yes,” all three of them stated quickly hoping he would buy it.
“Fine, but I’m not telling you her name, knowing you two you’ll know everything about her along with her blood type, what high school she went to and if she has ever gotten a speeding ticket,”
“That’s fair,” Clint said raising his hands in surrender.
“Alright, well she is incredible smart and could talk me in circles if she wanted to. She’s funny and refreshing to be around because she doesn’t hold what she’s saying back. Also, kind, which is really great,” Steve found himself rambling about her for a moment. In all honesty, it felt nice to talk about her to other people. To brag about how amazing his girl was.
“Ya we get it her personality is a 10 but like what does she look like,” Clint asked earning a nod from Thor.
“She has to be the most beautiful woman I have ever seen,” Steve said dreamily. “She has these bright green eyes that look like emeralds and this long curly blonde hair,”
“Sounds nice but I’m going to need more description,” Clint goaded hoping for more.
“She used to be a model,” Steve said with a shrug not thinking it was an important detail.
“For what company,” Natasha questioned.
“uh I think she said something about a secret, someone’s secret. Damn I think I forgot,” Steve looked irritated in himself as he forgot a detail that Charlie had told him. She had said it so nonchalantly and quickly, making it seem like that little part was unimportant.
“Victoria’s Secrets?” Clint questioned with wide eyes.
“Ya!” Steve said happily. “I wasn’t sure if you had heard of it,”
“Captain even I have heard of it,” Thor stated. “Well I look forward to meeting your lady even more now,”
“Well alright then,” Steve replied back confused as he finished making his sandwich. Picking it up he made his way out of the kitchen to his room. Stepping onto his floor he walked to his couch and turned his TV on. Switching to a random channel Steve tried to focus but kept feeling his thoughts go back to Charlie.
The thought of seeing her tomorrow put him slightly at ease. A whole day with her watching movies with no interruptions. He couldn’t be more excited.
Three floors below Tony Stark walked his daughter through the labs ready to show her all the reasons she should move in here.
