What I should be doing with my fanfic tonight: editing the newest chapter, tweaking dialogue, going back to previous chapters to make sure the progression's solid

What I'm doing instead: making my redesign in the Restitched Demo as a marketable plushie

The reason why I put so much effort into alien Danny and cryptid Vlad is because I really really like learning about animal biology and now that I'm getting schooling for it I get to research for the fic AND be "productive" at the same time this is like crack to me

It also makes me want to make a series of posts about my decisions in their designs and how they "work" to help them blahhhh

Since I've received so much fanart for Astral Chill (THANK YOU!!!) I've slightly changed how I list it on the fic. Originally I had them all placed at the end as well as the link to my tumblr, now I've backdated them to be placed at the end of the notes of whatever chapter was newest whenever the fanart was posted. I didn't want to lump everyone together and I thought it would also make for a good treat for the people reading.

since I recently hit one million words on my account, I thought it'd be fun to make a pie chart of all the fandoms I've written for. Some of these are not surprising at all if you know me but a few of these I stare at and wonder why the fuck I did that, but oh well. I really hope a few of these overtake some others soon, or that I get to add more slices once I have less WIPs on the backburner!

Wanted to share how I’ve been imagining Danny while reading Astral Chill :D Wasnt sure quite how animalistic he was. Need to attempt to depict Vlad as well at some point…

I NEED TO SQUISH HIM god I love how I tried to describe him as cute-ish and when I see different people’s ideas of general shape for him they’re all cute in ways that can vary and work so well. He’s a marshmallow and I must toast him

wanted to give an update on my writing: I have 2-3 chapters that WERE fully planned (whether it’s three depends ln how long a certain conversation takes) bit I’m stuck somewhere with unreliable wifi and also I realized my idea for literally the first scene needs to be scrapped for a second time?

Man I love trying to write very serious conversations it’s not annoying at all /s

sometimes fic planning for Danny Phantom is looking at ecological rules and signs of emotional neglect in children

other times it’s just listening to Ego Renegade Boy on loop and saying this is so him frfr

I want and need to curbstomp the Fentons

I've always liked the idea of obsessions for ghosts, but I always wondered if they could change at all? So when I started Astral Chill, I knew someone's obsession would change, and it was very upsetting to realize why. Sorry man, I'll stop torturing them one day.

it's harrowing trying to tag Vlad Masters in a fic. Like, he's not a good person yet, and I wouldn't say he's acting paternally towards Danny and Jazz, but he's not trying to fuck their mother and kill their father, so do we mark that as "good person"? Does seeing their home life and realizing he probably should be calling CPS make him protective? I'm honestly asking more questions about what would make him a good parental figure than the Fentons at this point. I know how to write those two in a way that toes the line until I want to cross it. Vlad keeps me guessing in a way that hurts everyone involved.

22 years with this show, and many of them spent with a fandom who's so welcoming of AUs and headcanons that are dark, weird, or completely different from what you'd expect. I'd never have the courage to make something as ambitious as Astral Chill if it wasn't for a group that already accepts so much creativity and encourages more.

I hope new readers like alien Danny, the ones who have been with me for a year are loving cryptid Vlad, and that the reveals we have in store, while done by many, many writers across many, many stories, are just as satisfying in my work.
