Letting her walk by him, he shifted his weight on the stairs while his eyes slowly tried to adjust to the lack of light. The stale smell made a piece of him want to scrunch his noise, but he kept the childlike shift in his face completely mental. Instead Bellamy heard her mentions something about a light source and chuckled lightly. “What you didn’t think ahead,” he teased light as he shifted the bag on his back and pulled out one of the few makeshift flashlights they had been holding the camp. “Not sure if you should get one of these,” was added with the same tone as he held out one of the two for Clarke.
He wanted to leave his worries at the camp. The deep worries that he could taste on the back of his tongue. He had been fighting the feeling of drowning all morning, he didn’t want to keep fighting while he was trying to actually do something for those damn kids. Bellamy didn’t want Clarke getting another - jolt of the terror that had seeped into his bones. His mother’s words always ringing in his ears. “I’ll be happy if we can find some blankets in this place,” he paused to walk down the stairs fully himself, his hand turning on his own light source. “I am not even going to pray about weapons because we both know the chances of that,” his words stopped like that with a huff.
Grabbing a few of the flashlights that they had from camp slipped her mind when she was getting ready. She’d been mulling over everything that was going on in her head. A storm of feelings swirled around her body almost constantly since they found out that the ark was coming down. It was a storm she was currently trying to keep at bay. She offered him a small smile when he handed her the light. “I must have been preoccupied.” she offered with a little shrug before switching hers on. She scanned the newly light room in front of her. “Blankets are definitely at the top of my list. I’ll be happy to have a little extra warmth at night for people.” she glanced back at him for a moment before continuing forward.
The first room they entered was a bit empty. Nothing really of note, it was a little off putting. But she had hope that deeper in they would find something. Anything that could make their time back at camp a bit better. “There is another set of stairs,” she called out though her words were followed bit a slight gasp as she stilled. Her light shinning on a body that was draped along the stairs. “That’s comforting..” she breathed out as she collected herself a little. At this point she wasn’t a stranger to seeing a dead body. But it still caught her off guard. A little wave of dread fluttered through her before she steeled her self. “Be careful..” was all she offered before continuing down them.
at the bottom it opened up in to a long hallway. Which seemed a bit more promising then the entrance now above them. “We check every room?” she turned to look at the man with her. She was determined to search every inch of the place before the left. She didn’t want to leave anything behind.
