The Dornish Bird - Chapter 6
Hey, guys! How have you been?
I’m soooo excited about this update, really. This is my favorite chapter so far, I had so much fun writing it for you guys. It is a happy chapter too, I hope you like it. We have some jealous boys in here...
Oh yeah, it’s time to say goodbye to our dear Lady Catelyn. I really love her character (and actress, she’s amazing), and our reader will miss her a lot. We have to say goodbye to Robb and Theon too, by the way. I’m the only one with teary eyes? Today’s song is nostalgic enough to get you in the vibe, I like it so much with Robb’s picture, It kinda matches the mood too. Here you go!
(Y/n) watched as the people prepared for the royal’s departure. Everyone was busy with something, no one minded the silent girl sitting on a fence with her owl resting by her side. She let the bird out of his cage to hunt his last meal before their travel, but he did not seem to be hungry. In fact, the bird didn’t move away from her at all. Even with their little time together, the animal seemed to enjoy her company. She could see why Lady Catelyn gave him to her. That owl was a faithful companion, and the Gods knew she would need it.
"Are you looking forward to staying inside a carriage for a whole month, Orie?" The girl mumbled.
She named the owl over her favorite constellation, Orion’s Belt. However, Orion did not answer his owner's question. She sighed.
"I thought so." She said. "I wish I could fly like you, at least I would be free for a short time."
She wanted to pet the bird, but Orion wasn't very fond of touches. She tried to rub his head once, and the bird pecked her finger. (Y/n) kept her distance since then.
"I guess it could be worse, at least we don't have to walk all the way to King's Landing." The girl sighed.
The lack of response from her bird made her smile a little. She could get used to talking to herself like that. Orion could hear her, but he would never be able to say anything in return. He would be like a flying journal.
"Do all the madwomen talk to birds or it's just you?"
She trembled slightly with that sudden deep voice. Grinning at her reaction, Robb Stark made his way in her direction. Once he was close enough to smell the sweet scent of her hair, the Young Wolf felt his belly twisting. Since he found out that (Y/n) was his bride, he couldn't stop thinking about her.
Orion opened his wings, annoyed by the male's presence. With a loud peep, the bird flew away. (Y/n) sighed, watching her not-so-faithful companion abandoning her so easily. She learned that Orion didn't like too many companies too.
"You scared my owl." She said.
Rob laughed. She smiled a little.
"I'm deeply sorry, my lady." He said sarcastically.
There was something in the way he spoke that made (Y/n)'s heart beat faster. She blushed discretely and swallowed her embarrassment. Chuckling, the girl got up from her improvised seat and approached the man slowly.
"Does my Lord need me for something?" She asked.
Robb smirked at her sarcasm. That's why he liked (Y/n) so much. No other girl in Winterfell dared to sass the eldest Stark child. She was sincere, he prized it about her.
"I do, actually." He said. "Care to walk with me?"
"And who am I to refuse my lord's company?" She said.
Robb laughed at her words. With shiny eyes and a large smile on his lips, he offered his arm. (Y/n) smiled, linking her arm to his.
The pair started their walk with calm steps. (Y/n) looked around slightly. Her presence was suddenly noticed by the people around them. They stared at her as she walked with Robb, her arm in his. She put her left hand in his elbow, biting her lower lip softly.
"I'll never get used to all this attention." She said.
"They will look even more when you come back." He said. "They are contemplating their future Lady, doesn't it remind you of the day you arrived? You used to look at us like this too."
The girl blushed furiously at his statement.
"I wasn't like them." She muttered.
Robb laughed again, she pouted.
"Yes, you were." He said. "You still are. I see the way you look at my mother like she is a goddess."
"Oh, how I would love to hit you right now, my dear Lord."
Robb laughed wholeheartedly. She laughed with him this time, sighing quietly.
It felt good to be with him. She liked his company, and most importantly, she liked him. The girl was worried at the begging of their courtship since she never saw Robb as a potential husband. She acknowledged his handsomeness a long time ago, of course. Every single girl in Winterfell had their eyes on Ned's oldest boy, but (Y/n) got used to seeing him only as a friend. She suppressed any attraction she could ever feel for him, even when Theon said that Robb would "fuck" her if he had the chance. But she knew that he would never look at her with other eyes.
At least, that was what she thought.
Robb took her to the Godswood. He knew she loved that place, and he liked it himself too. They would have privacy there, and she would get the chance to say goodbye to her favorite place. That simple display of concern would make her happy, he thought. And he was right.
(Y/n) flashed a large smile once they arrived at her usual spot. Her bright grin illuminated the whole forest, making Robb's heart skip a beat. 'Gods, she is gorgeous.' He thought. In moments like those, he could only think about how lucky he was to have her as his bride.
"I love coming here." She said, her voice sweet as honey. "I'll miss this place so much, I wish I could take the lake to King's Landing, but I don't think it will fit in my luggage."
"I bet it would if you just got rid of all your books." Robb teased.
She glared at him, the man smirked at her grim expression.
"I'd rather get rid of you, dear fiancé." She said. “Even my oldest book has a better smell.”
Robb's shocked face made her laugh with all her might. He snorted, letting go of her arm. Once she was free, (Y/n) ran.
"Oh, you little..." He said.
She laughed freely as her legs worked to distance herself from him. Suddenly feeling like a beast, Robb's body responded automatically to her defiance. He chased after her as a wolf hunted its prey. His mind was filled with pure challenge and wanting. His hands craved for her skin. His mouth yearned for her taste. For the first time in his life, Robb felt like a true wolf.
And he wanted to devour her in every way possible.
Since his feelings were so intense and strong, her sprint didn't take long. The hunt ended as soon as it began. Robb captured the fair maiden in his awaiting hands and trapped her between a large tree and his own body. (Y/n)'s smile faded as her face grew warm, her cheeks went red as a beet. Her breath was taken away by Robb's sudden proximity, and her heart pounded like a drum in her chest.
"Why did you run away from me?" Robb asked hoarsely.
(Y/n) gulped hard, feeling her legs tremble. She felt desired under Robb’s gaze, his eyes burned her face with pure lust.
As soon as those words left her mouth, Robb's breath got stuck in his throat. His mind went black, his whole body blazed with a burning desire. He wanted her.
Without a second thought, Robb lowered his head and touched her mouth with his yearning lips in a passionate kiss.
Their first, but not their last.
The young couple paced in jumpy steps, grinning knowingly at each other. (Y/n) was still trying to fix her dress, but it was impossible to conceal the tear Robb left in the fabric. He smirked at her, making her blush.
"Oh, stop grinning like an idiot." She hissed at him, even though she was smiling too.
His smile only got bigger.
"You have to admit we had a lot of fun behind that tree." He said.
The girl blushed but ended up laughing at his statement. Yes, they had their fun among the sacred trees.
"The Gods will punish you for this, you dirty man." She said.
"We made love, what kind of God would punish us for this? I bet The Mother is pleased by our act of passion."
(Y/n) could almost see the face Lady Catelyn would make if she could listen to her son's words. Smirking, the girl blinked innocently to Robb.
"Would she? What about your mother? She would like it too?" She said.
(Y/n) laughed hard of Robb's startled face. It took a few seconds to Robb to realize she was teasing him. When he did though, he attacked the girl with tickles. (Y/n) squealed happily as his hands assaulted her soft waist, turning her dress into a wrinkled mess once again.
"Let go of me!" She yelled in a high pitched voice.
"Never. You're the one who deserves to be punished." He answered.
She kicked and screamed, but Robb only released her from his tickle therapy when he felt like it. The girl panted heavily, with little tears of joy on the corners of her eyes. She stared at his bright blue eyes and sighed. How could a girl like her get so lucky? She just had her first time with a wonderful person, and it was the best thing she ever did. That handsome man was hers.
Robb was about to kiss (Y/n)'s reddish lips when they heard Theon's voice.
Annoyed, the Greyjoy approached the happy couple with a deep frown on his face.
"Where have you been? Everyone has been looking for you." He said.
(Y/n) glared at him with a discreet pout on her lips. Robb could see her uneasiness. She was enjoying their moment too much to allow an interruption. Even Theon could tell she would murder him if she had the chance.
Chuckling lightly, The Young Wolf enlaced his right arm around her waist and pulled her to him. Her body fitted in his almost perfectly, making (Y/n) whine softly. She smiled and bit her lower lip. Her body already craved for his over and over again. She wanted to spend the rest of her day with Robb, in a quiet place where no one could hear their moans.
"What is it, Theon?" Robb said.
(Y/n) placed her hand on his chest while he talked. She sighed in approval when her fingers found the spot right upon his heart. She could feel it pulsing against her palm, almost if she was holding it. Robb grinned, his hand made its way towards (Y/n)'s fingers. He held her hand in place, and she knew he was enjoying her touch. She sighed again. 'Oh Theon, leave us alone', she thought. Robb was thinking the same thing.
Theon stared at the pair. They were glowing, any person in that household could see that. Robb's hair was messier than normal, and (Y/n)'s dress was visibly ruined. As Theon studied the girl's face, his eyes grew wider in realization.
(Y/n) jumped slightly with his sudden cry. Robb frowned, looking away from his bride to face his friend. He could tell that the Greyjoy was disgusted by the tone of his voice, but what Theon's face showed took the Stark boy by surprise.
He looked angry for some mysterious reason.
"What on earth are you saying?" Robb said. "Apologise to (Y/n)."
"You couldn't wait any longer, could you?" Theon said. This time, his words were directed to the girl in front of him. "You were eager to spread your legs to a wealthy man like a whore, weren't you? Was it good, Robb? Is her cunt tight enough for your liking?"
Without thinking, (Y/n) let go of Robb's embrace. Acting on impulse, the girl slapped Theon across his face. Disbelief painted the boy's face. He touched his cheek, feeling a painful sensation spreading like wildfire on his face.
"How dare you!" Robb shouted.
The Young wolf shielded (Y/n) with his body as he moved towards Theon. He never felt so angry in his entire life, his mind almost failed to assimilate all that happened in the past seconds. As (Y/n) tried to conceal herself behind him, Robb glared at Theon with piercing eyes.
"How dare you speak to my bride like that?" He spoke angrily.
Before Theon could even think about what to answer, a new person stepped into their argument. Fuming, the Lady Stark herself separated the two enraged boys with her slender arms. At that moment, (Y/n) noticed something she should have detected earlier:
And everyone in the scene was watching their fight like hawks.
"What is the meaning of this, Robb?" His mother asked, dead serious.
But her son couldn't answer. He absolutely couldn't reveal the truth behind that short-lived conflict between his most trusted friend and his future wife. If Catelyn found out about their dirty ploy in the sacred woods, she would murder both of the lovebirds and them feed the dogs with Theon's dead body. Besides that, if the people around them heard the truth, rumors would be spread and (Y/n) dishonored, and would not be worthy of the role of the next Lady of Winterfell.
And Robb wouldn't risk it.
The young man breathed deeply to keep his head in place. He looked Theon in the eye as his lips muttered a questionable explanation.
"It's nothing, mother." He said. "We will solve this later, don't worry about it."
Catelyn was far too clever to notice the lie behind Robb's words but decided to let the boys handle it as they pleased. In the meanwhile, she needed to scold her protegé for acting so unladylike in front of other people. If (Y/n) wasn't aware of her new position, then Catelyn would discipline her.
Taking that cue, the Lady grabbed the girl by the arm quietly enough to look gentle, but her hold was strong upon (Y/n)'s skin. The girl gasped, surprised by her Lady's actions. Fierce as ever, the woman gazed into her girl's eyes startlingly.
"Come with me." She said, running shivers down (Y/n)'s spine.
The girl gulped hard but found herself in no place to deny. With a last warning look directed to the two boys, Catelyn pulled the dornish girl towards the Stark home. Watching the two women distancing themselves from them, Theon and Robb faced each other again. Sparks flew from their intense gaze as both boys tensed their bodies.
They knew that their friendship would never be the same after that fight considering that Robb found out Theon's feelings in the worst way possible.
His best friend desired his bride.
And The Young Wolf did not like it one bit.
