Looking at the new promo image just has me thinking again about Aaravos like

Maybe Aaravos became what he hated like if he hated the stars for being arrogant and cruel and now it's like

We've been told Aaravos didn't invent dark magic but he did discover it and I wonder if some part of him regrets it like look at all of the literal bloodshed him trying to help humanity has accomplished. He doesn't seem remorseful presently he seems cruel but I have to wonder if it's a matter of being in so deep what's a few more bodies

I've also wondered if using Dark Magic adds to a sort of energy pool/if it's more literal than symbolic here that there's an ocean of blood or at least stolen, corrupted energy here that's been building for millenia

Because if that was true it would explain (my theory at least) that Aaravos kept stirring the pot during the 700 years of the Mage Wars purposefully to build up power for himself or for Some reason that only he knows since it doesn't make much sense to play such a long game spanning centuries. He's patient but why

A final thought is that Aaravos wields destiny as a concept and is clearly antagonizing Callum over destiny and control, but I have to wonder how subject Aaravos himself is to destiny as well if he feels predetermined, controlled inevitable, if he thinks he can break free from destiny or they he's just so powerful he thinks he forms everyone's destiny his own included
