Doesnt look like it's just her releasing her gauntlet. She releases the connection yes, but if you look close, you see his chain actually tears it in half as well. More than likely it's the dual force, as well as she is trying to pull her arm back hard, so because of this, it's the combined momentum, as well as the shattering of the gauntlet that leads to her launching backwards. Also, her gauntlets, if I recall, have gas canisters in them for her E, so it's probably a shockwave from those

     okay the gas canisters make sense, but other than that I’d just see her fall back with force. not being launched. maybe she’d go back a bit, but just not that far from falling backwards. the canisters however is a very smart idea and 100% what i’m going with to give myself closure on it

     okay am i the only one that finds is strange that when vi releases her gauntlet, instead of just sorta falling back, she goes flying through the air? what caused her to go flying? she was just being dragged along, so really she was just leaning back against it. that wouldn’t be enough to send her soaring through the air though right?
