Hats off to the Admiral! I just tried this new water-based pomade from Admiral, a fairly new California-based company. I was of course delighted to support a local business with a great aesthetic and a sound utilitarian sensibility; and, as it turns out, this is also a damn good pomade. Great hold, nice scent (kind of a light coconut aroma—pleasantly neutral), water-based, and delightfully packaged. A little bit of this goes a long way, so the 4 oz. container should last you quite a long time. With so many choices out there for pomades now, I thought it worthwhile to throw in my praise of the Admiral: a fine choice for any gentleman of discerning style and taste. www.admiralsupply.com

The face of our history turned to each direction, simultaneous. Despite their teachings, no one understood that weight.
Refinery Fire at Sunset.
Fever turns one head, another, to rose to light. In the room are waves—of dialogue, or various colors; stains of myth; of character; poise; a lightly crumbling artifice.
