Aerith lets out an impressed whistle, trying not to crack a smile at the mention of the coupon for the free back rub. Despite everything else he’s mentioned off the list, the coupon is the more outlandish than the array of weapons at his disposal.

“Sure seems like it! You got some magical pockets there to store everything? Or some kind of bottomless bag that holds all that?”

She’s leaning a little closer, trying to spot said pockets and bag. “Can I see that coupon?”

Aerith reaches out and takes the coupon, recognizing the name of the place from her numerous ventures into Wall Market. “Ooh, says here you have until tomorrow to use it!”

All good things come to an end, right?

I've been mulling over what to type for the past little while now about how I was going to write this, but I think keeping it simple is the best way.

It's been some time, probably almost a year, give or take, that I've been feeling that my hobby for writing has been fizzling out. I thought maybe it was because life was getting hectic, work was picking up and becoming busier (and I thought, maybe during the summer I would have more time to write, but that hasn't been the case), or things in general would slow down and I could carve out a routine for myself to dedicate to some creative hobbies.

I did, but writing hasn't been among them.

There's also been some lifestyle changes—for the better—that I am doing my best to stick to, and some new experiences that I am trying out that I hadn't before and I feel good about myself in a way that I haven't in a very long time.

I've also jumped back into older hobbies that I'm relieved to know that I can still do and find enjoyment in them after feeling burnt out.

Maybe I'm going through a burn out in regards to writing and rp in general. Or, as I'll sometimes call them "funks." A part of me used to be very weary about how long I would take to reply back to a thread or meme prompt, and part of me, recently, still feels that self-imposed pressure because it is a bad habit that stuck with me for a while and I never got around to fully being able to kick it to the curb.

But I do know that, for the past few months, whenever I had a chance to sit at my computer and read through what I owed, I felt like I couldn't reply. Like there was this massive block in front of me and no way around it.

Writer's block, burn out—whatever you want to call it, and I’ve given this a lot of thought—but I feel like taking a step back might be the right choice for me.

Despite me taking a step back, I didn’t think I would stick to writing for as long as I have. It’s been on and off over the years but it has been one of the greatest hobbies I’ve dove into because it allowed me to create when I couldn’t do so in a visual manner (painting, drawing, etc) for a very long time.

And during my time roleplaying, whether it was here or on different platforms and different sites, I have been fortunate to meet some really cool people. Over the past few years I've made some new friends, found my way back to old ones, and even got to meet some of them in person and spend time with them, and that is something I will not soon forget.

I'm very grateful that a hobby such as this has allowed me to build friendships online and offline, and has made my life feel very rich and full. You are all wonderful and amazing and it has been an absolute pleasure to have talked, written and plotted with you.

Onward to the next adventure! 💖

[ rainfall ] sender finds receiver out alone in the rain (from ff7 spike verse! feel free to reach out if u want smth else tho :D)

The Gold Saucer is unlike anything she has ever seen before. This is, of course, because she has never ventured beyond Midgar — but since joining with Cloud, Tifa, Barret, she's been able to see more in just a few weeks than she has in her entire life.

Aerith can barely contain her excitement when she steps off the trolley that drops them off at the Gold Saucer's entrance, and while she's looking forward to spending time with her newfound friends, it seems that the others are dispersing, either to do their own thing or to look for clues.

The state and residents of North Corel have been weighing heavily on Barret and, despite her efforts to lighten the mood, Aerith feels like she's made it worse. Perhaps a little exploration might do some good.

With a time and place in mind, Aerith heads off and is quite relieved she's alone. There is no doubt in her mind that there are Turks around here; this would be among one of the perfect places for them to be, especially when it concerns Shinra's affairs. There really isn't any place on this Planet where Shinra haven't dug their fingers into and latched on.

The plop! of a raindrop on her cheek makes her look up and she can see the once clear skies have clouded over. While no lightning or thunder can be seen nor heard, everyone else outside has hurried into enclosed attractions to get out of the rain.

Aerith, on the other hand, remains outside as she keeps looking skyward. The clouds are so dense that she can't even see the stars in the sky, nor the moon. The only lights she can see are the ones from the Gold Saucer itself, shining bright as a lighthouse in this still moment of the dark.

A few more drops fall before the skies open up and a heavier downpour starts, making the surface of the ground slick and dimming the brightness of the theme park's lights. By now, Aerith is drenched, but it is some time since she's felt the rain like this.

There is no desire to move and find shelter.

When she opens her eyes, her vision is blurred from the raindrops catching on her eyelashes. Aerith blinks them away and as she's rubbing her eyes, she turns and sees that she's not alone.

At first, just as the blurriness clears up, she thinks it's a Turk. The suit makes her think of one and Aerith can feel her heart drop as this moment of calm is finally interrupted.

"...'m not going back with you," she says, but the rain is falling so fast and hard that her words may as well be drowned out. Still, Aerith remains where she is but she brandishes her staff, her stance clear.
