@scholarprincess
He certainly wasnāt in Hyrule anymore. The greenery he loved was nowhere to be found, instead replaced by towers of steel and iron, the animals he cherished replaced by way more humans (Were they humans? Each seemed so different from the next) than he could have ever imagined. He had already woken up confused and lost once before, but this time was much worse. At least before his world had some semblance. This time, everything was foreign to the Hylian boy.
Except for one figure he caught out of the corner of his eye.
āPrincess?ā
There was no mistakening that blonde hair, those elvish ears, and that quiet intelligence she emitted with every step. Picking up his pace, his smile grew from ear to ear, immediately relieved by her presence. He yells outĀ āPrincess!ā to catch her attention, only stopping to catch his breath once he catches up, a small laugh escaping his lips as the blue hues of his eyes meet a darker shade in hers.
āPrincess! Boy am I glad to see at least one familiar face!ā
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ū.Lips would tremble slightly as surprise would be what laced in her facial features. Out of everyone that she could possibly think about seeing in this city she wouldnāt think sheād be seeing him anytime soon. As soon as he had ran up to her finally she would hold her arms close and tightly almost wanting to pinch herself to see if she was dreaming at all. If this was a dream sheād hope she wouldnāt be waking up soon.
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Soon after heād speak, she was already embracing him trying her best to not tremble. ā Link! Iāmā¦Iām so glad youāre okay! ā Many times had she already flung herself at him to seek comfort in some sort of manner. The princess would only think that heād be used to such actions and wouldnāt mind. Hopefully.
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā ā Itās beenā¦weird here⦠ā If she were to be honest with herself, that was the best she could even describe this city. It was so unusual, so advanced, and she had no idea how things truly worked around here. She was still trying to learn to the best of her abilities and try and stay on her own two feet. At least though this meant that she could have another by her side to help her.
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā A bit awkwardly she would release him and step back muttering some apologies along with it. ā How long have you been here..? Did you just arrive? ā Sheād question while looking up at him with curiosity. Though if he was here that meant he probably lost a few things just like she had. If so, she did wonder if they allowed him to keep the Sheikah slate. They could be as generous enough to let him do so, but then again she was soon finding out these people werenāt so kind and generous at all. It was a 50 / 50 chance at best, but it was better than nothing.
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā ā Did they let you keep the Sheikah slate? Itās most valuable, ā sheād bite on her bottom lip softly as sheād think for a moment. ā Itās really important that they at least let you keep that, please tell me they at least allowed that. ā
Of course he wouldnāt mind. He would never mind, even if the world was crashing down around them. The boy would always protect her in whatever way she needed. He was, is, and will be her knight, regardless of where they found themselves. It was his job to comfort her, keep her safe and warm for the past 100 years, and the next 100 if needed. Of course he would return the notion with his own arms.
After all, he too found comfort in her embrace.
āItās okay, Iām here now. Iām okay. Iām sorry if I worried you."
He tried his best to give her a reassuring smile, anything to help calm her, but he would be lying if he said he wasnāt a little apprehensive about being thrown into such a strange environment. Still, he wasnāt the Hero for nothing: his courage shone best in these moments, through his limitless energy. Grinning, he released his hold on her, keeping his hands on her shoulders: āThanks, though, for worrying."
"Yeah. It is kind of strange here. Iāve never seen anything like this." He notioned to the buildings around them. "But donāt worry, Princess! Two heads are definitely better than one ā Weāll find a way back!"
Shaking his head, he attempted to redirect her apologies, to tell her she had nothing to apologize for ā but her next questions caught his attention and the previous words he wanted to get out soon fell in favor of answers. "Yes, I just arrived. I donāt really know what happened, but ..." With a fluidity only obtained through countless repetition, he pulled out his Sheikah Slate, currently doomed to a dormant state, and showed it to the scholar before him with a puzzled look:
āI have it right here, but it doesnāt seem to work right now. I havenāt really looked too much into it yet, though. You probably know more about what might be happening with it than me."
