He’s dancing at Julliard and trying to get me to eat healthier at the same time, and we both know he’s only going to be successful at one of those.

Yes, of course they did. I don’t know what you even mean, it was a mix of the both, actually. I’m not saying I did or didn’t but I’m saying that it wasn’t the worst thing that happened to us. He’s thankfully super nice. I couldn’t ask for a better little brother. Yeah, a little bit but not too much. I guess you guys were friends and all so that stuff happens. He’s only going to dance a Julliard successfully. Getting you to eat healthy, that’s a joke.

A little?  I guess.  But the last couple of years I’ve missed not really being around my friends at the holidays as well.  And well, lately, I’ve missed someone a lot, and this felt like a good time to make up that.  Yes, I’m happy to keep it in the past as well.  I’d like to think I’m not the same guy.

I actually think it is admirable not only for you to look out for your brother but to help your parents this way by taking the burden off them.  So if you and your brother aren’t staying with them, where are you staying during this wonderful festive time? Oh.  Well, I’ll make a few calls to my father’s office and see if there is something I can do to help out.

Well, I don’t really know what to call things between me and Quinn.  It seems weird to call each other friends when we were once rivals, but we have hung out and shared meals and stuff while we were both at Yale, so it’s not like we’re strangers either.  And I’m glad that provided you some entertainment.

Oh really now? You’ve missed someone a lot? Should I ask? I mean, I don’t want to be too nosy but still I’m curious. Though I wish you good luck with your makeup. I’m sure that you’re not. You seem like a very nice guy so I doubt that you are.

Well, once again, thank you. That means a lot to me. It’s just something that I want to help with because he needs and deserves better. He is someone who deserves all of the happy in the world and if I can help with that then I will. We’re just staying in a hotel, we can’t stay there and I live about a hour or so away so a hotel is my best option right now. Thank you, Sebastian. You’re a really great guy and friend.

That’s good! I’m glad you two got past that. It makes life easier whenever you have friends instead of people who you don’t get along with. Wouldn’t you agree? I’m just happy that you’re moving on from your past and people are happy to move forward with you.

Everything okay? Getting custody is a big freakin deal, Bree. Kids are gonna be kids, I’m sure you’re someone he looks up to and all that motivational crap I’m missing.

My attitude in high school has definitely changed. I’m not that “player” type I was back in McKinley. As far as my ability to dance? It’s only gotten better and I swear I don’t mean that in a cocky way. I’d love for you to stop by sometime. How’s college life?

Just stuff with my family that isn’t exactly working out so well and I’m getting him. It’s not a big deal, just stuff. I know that it is. Trust me, I know that it is. I hope so. I just hope that I can make all of this work, that’s all.

That’s good to know. I wasn’t exactly involved in all of that but I’m glad that you changed your ways and stuff. It wasn’t gonna end well for you if it didn’t. Maybe I will or you can just come see me and show me your moves. Though it’d be on your own so you’d have to manage that one but still. It’s good. I love it and it’s fast paced. It’s just what I was looking for. How’s your college life?

Nope, I wasn’t. Be shocked I know but I wasn’t. That’s good. I like winning so I can understand where you’re coming from. That’s good! I mean, besides the hotel, that’s not good but at least you have a friend who let you stay over and all of that. I’m happy for you. It’s been good so far, honestly. Not bad at all, thank you for asking. Oh, I don’t mind. I mean, Berry invited me. We were sort of friends so, it happened.

Exactly. And my daddies always used to say that you can’t have too much of a good thing! Oh, he’s only five? That’s very cute! I’ll definitely have to work on casting somebody as Santa for an impromtu gift-giving session. I don’t think we have any chimneys to work with, so maybe Santa will have to come through the door… And if you’d like a room for him at bedtime, since I assume the adult festivites will continue into the night, I can arrange one of the spare bedrooms for him to sleep in until you’re ready to depart. You could even stay over if that’s more convenient.

That’s what my parents say, too. Or they used to anyway. Yup! That’s him. He’s a cute and a mess but he’s my cute mess. Thank you so much, you have no idea how much that means to me, Rachel. He could use some good in his life after how he’s been with my parents so this would be perfect. That’s fine! It doesn’t matter, long as it’s Santa. That’s all that matters. I’d like that. We wouldn’t have to stay but just a place for him to go to sleep for a while would be very nice.
