As time goes by, new technologies emerge making the process of communication easier than ever. We’ve been using media to help our daily activities starting from primitive times up to the present. These advances allow us to reach each other through faster and more cost effective means. The internet has opened up a virtual platform enabling people to share ideas and information globally, increasing each one’s understanding about international events, trends, different cultural beliefs, and many more. This emergence, though beneficial to the masses, has also ushered in new complications particularly to do with security and the need for media literacy. The phrase ‘think before you click’ should be taken into closer consideration to ensure that there are no threats to our personal security. We should also think about how our posts can affect the people that may come across them. It is no doubt that technology, through time, evolves in order to improve the human quality of life. It is up to us to take ok the responsibility of using it in a way that doesn’t harm other users.
