One year ago today I got in my tippy toes and promised Jena Williams I’d love and cherish her for the rest of my life and it was the best decision I’ve ever made. Here’s a little back story. Jena and I started talking on MySpace in 2007 and quickly lost touch. Fast forward 5 years I just went through a pretty messy breakup and she reached out to me to let me know she was there for me if I ever needed to talk. After a few weeks of me being on tour with my band me and her talking basically everyday slowly clicking and realizing how easy it was for us to talk and open up she decided to drive to New Jersey from Pa to meet in real life and see my band play. She drove to the venue to pick me up and bring me to a hotel so I could shower and soon as I got into her car I realized how insanely nervous I was. She was so much prettier in real life and I was literally shaking in the passenger seat next to her. We got to the hotel I quickly showered and then said OK I’m ready to go back to the venue, I think she was seriously surprised I didn’t try to make a move on her and was actually being a gentleman. We got back to the venue and talked and laughed and got closer and closer and I realized at that moment when I looked at her smiling face that I was madly in love with her and I knew from that moment on I would spend the rest my life this girl. We had a wonderful night together and the next day we had our first date in times square New York. Waking around holding hands and seeing the most beautiful part of New York. We hugged and kissed and said our goodbyes not knowing where the future would hold for us she went back to Pennsylvania. I got back in the van and continued on tour. Weeks passed and we talked every day, I got home from tour and instantly flew to Pennsylvania to see her. I propose to her on our second date and we been together ever since. She finished college and on the day she graduated I drove from New Hampshire to pick her up, packed all of her stuff in my car and moved her here with me. Two kids and a million kisses later I love this girl more than I could ever describe in a silly post. I met my souls mate in New Jersey. Who would have thought? Happy anniversary babe I can’t wait to spend forever with you. ❤️

A year ago today we were celebrating our last night as “single” people and on 1.29.2017 we were finally married after 5 years of a storybook relationship . Honestly, I think we’d both agree we’re even more in love today than we were just one year ago. We’ve both grown so much individually and as a couple. Our bond is so deep and so unbreakable . The biggest lesson we’ve learned this past year is that marriage takes work. You need to listen to each other, understand the other isn’t perfect, know that they have life outside of your marriage and support that. Embrace each others flaws, be open and honest at ANY cost. Communication is KEY . Love each other through the hardest times. When you really don’t want to. When you’re the most vulnerable. Water your trust daily . One year down, forever to go #weddinganniversary

These past couple weeks I’ve been super self conscious and shit about my body again, not wanting to eat, always searching for big shirts or sweaters that cover everything. Reading this made me feel better because it’s true, imperfections have no control over you unless YOU let them. I’m gonna practice this and you should too. I swear you’re not as bad as you think…none of us are. Thank you for this Brian, you’re an amazing person and I love you.
