Dom sighed, there were about twenty things he could or should be doing - not limited to reinforcing his protective charms - but he couldn’t be bothered to move from the chair he’d settled in in one of the ranch house’s front rooms. The door creaked quietly as it moved and Dom looked over before he could think better of it. “Just let me know if I’m in the way,” he muttered.
Bridie had found that she liked the front rooms. There was such a nice few of the ranch grounds, as far as the eye could see. A lot of the time she would just sit in the window sill, her arms crossed and her head pillowed on her arms and enjoy watching the ranch come alive in the mornings. She was on her way to do just that, when she caught a person in the room. In a good mood, she bounced in, setting up on the window sill just as she normally would, only she faced the boy instead of the window. “You’re not in my way,” she said, tilting her head. “You look a bit lost, though, to be truthful.”
