"Ah well… I’m not sure if we can allow you to put it out on the front entrance, but you can leave some fliers at our information desk." Sakura pointed back to where Shizuka was sitting. "We get a lot of people coming through the museum, so I’m sure people will see it."

"Thanks!" Torio went and put some of the flier on the desk next to Shizuka. "If you two like you can stop by and get a free sample of our Ice cream. We have every flavor ever made."

Shizuka watched him carefully, glancing at the fliers. “If Natsuki was here, she’d take you up on that. Hell, she’ll probably single handedly keep you in business. Or Masumi will on her behalf, since she’ll probably make him pay for it all.”

"Well I am glad that someone would like my Ice cream. Are you two not big fans of ice cream?" Torio looked from Shizuka to Sakura. "Or do you have a certain flavor that you prefer to eat when you get Ice cream?"

Shizuka nodded toward Sakura. "That one's picky and likes fancy cakes and parfaits and whatever." Shizuka shrugged, "I'll eat whatever you put in front of me. I don't really care what it is."

"I'm not 'picky'." Sakura sighed and frowned, "I just like what I like. I still like ice cream. I just don't eat it often."

"It's not like you'd get fat. You spend half the damned day exercising whenever you can."

"Ah, thanks. I was just wondering if I can hang up a sign on your door? I have an ice cream place that just opened not to long ago and was hoping to get more customers." Torio held up the poster for Tsubasa Ice Cream. "If you don’t mind that is."

"I know." Sakura squeezed his hand lightly, grateful for that. They’d been together, officially, nearly two years year by now, though they were both too preoccupied with work to bother with the formality of that. But she knew she could rely on him. He glanced up, "If he plans to try and do what he did when I was young, he’ll regret even attempting to re-establish contact with me."

"Oh… Oh I know that tone." Akashi smirked. “Hopefully it doesn’t have to come to that. What exactly is he inviting you to anyways?”

Sakura gave a thin smile, "You've seen the result of me having to take that tone." He'd seen it first hand, the time he'd lied to Natsuki about burning that doll. Though she'd gone easy on him then. She set aside the apple and picked up the letter, frowning at it. "His birthday, apparently. I'd forgotten that it was this time of year... There's a company party that he wants me to go to, but he says it's fine if I would rather come and meet him privately."

Sakura let out a small sigh and smiled, reaching over to touch his hand lightly. “…Thank you. I think that it may be easier for me if you’re there.”

He turned his hand over and grasped at Sakura’s hand. “If I can support you even a little but, you know I’ll be there. Plus, I’m kind of curious as to what he wants as well. If it’s anything bad…”

"I know." Sakura squeezed his hand lightly, grateful for that. "That’s not exactly the same thing." Sakura sighed, though she couldn’t really argue the point. People did change. Eiji had, Shizuka had… Even she herself had. She was far from the same person she’d been a decade ago. "All right, I suppose you’ve got me on that point. It just seems os sudden."

Sakura looked up at Akashi. “..You’ll… go with me?” Part of her had wanted to ask him to come with her, but it was her problem and her pride dictated she should handle it on her own. But to have him just offer like that threw her off guard, even though as it sank in, she realized she shouldn’t really be that surprised considering their relationship now.

"I told you, I want to be with you on every adventure I go on." He smiled. “This is no different.”

Sakura let out a small sigh and smiled, reaching over to touch his hand lightly. "...Thank you. I think that it may be easier for me if you're there."

(Shizuka) "Is that blood?!"

Nami nodded. “I got into a fight with some punks on the way home…” she told her. “I went and took care of them, but they still got a few hits in…”

Shizuka smiled, “Just try not to rough up that pretty face too much, okay?”

"Of course not~ I have to keep it for you~"

Shizuka smiled and leaned over to kiss Nami. "that's right. So if anyone gives you trouble, you kick them int eh ass, got it?"

Sakura tensed, as if to argue, but caught the small movement and sighed, leaning back in her chair again, taking another bite of the apple. “He all but disowned me when I left home… He’s never wanted anything to do with me before, so it’s hard to believe he just decided one day that he missed me.”

"People do change… I mean remember when Shizuka tried to sacrifice a bunch of kids? Bad times but, she’s changed." He looked at his apple. “Granted that may just be wishful thinking.”

He took a small bite before adding. “If you go, I’ll go with you.”

Sakura picked up the apple he’d brought for her ant took a bite, shaking her head. She swallowed and frowned, “I haven’t heard from him since I left home for the JSDF.” She stared hard at the apple, as if it would offer her an answer. “…This feels like some kind of trap.”

"A trap?" Akashi frowned. “That seems like a big jump… Granted I don’t exactly know the man. He is much older now, he might just… Miss you.” He fiddled at his wrist that once held a watch. “It’s just not always easy to see.”

Shizuka sighed and got a rag and the first aid kit, sitting down to clean Nami up. “That’s my girl~”

Nami grinned proudly. “I try my best~”

Shizuka smiled, "Just try not to rough up that pretty face too much, okay?"

Sakura jumped slightly at the sound of Akashi’s voice, quickly sitting up straight. She looked at him, then at the apple he’d set down, as if momentarily confused by it. “A-Ah… Thank you.”

Sakurashook her head, “I’m fine… just…” She frowned and picked up the sheet of paper, folding it up. “…My Father wants me to visit.”

"I see…" Akashi tossed the apple in his hand. “Have you talked to your father recently at all?” He asked curious. “Any idea how you’re going to tackle this?”

Sakura picked up the apple he'd brought for her ant took a bite, shaking her head. She swallowed and frowned, "I haven't heard from him since I left home for the JSDF." She stared hard at the apple, as if it would offer her an answer. "...This feels like some kind of trap."

Don't chase the rabbit (Shizuka)

"Why don't I go to school like the kids in the village?" Shizuka looked over her shoulder at the old owl on his perch, kicking her legs back and forth as she sat on the raised walkway, able to see the village down the mountain from this part of the large house that was now only occupied by she and the clan elder. She could see people moving in the same pattern they always did this time of day. Children returning home from school.

The owl sighed and shook his head. "You're not like them. You are a ninja. You receive your lessons here from me."

Shizuka frowned, not satisfied with that answer, "But I never get to go play with any of them, and there's no one else here anymore. It's boring, Gekkou-sama... I don't have any friends."

The old owl flew from his perch and landed beside Shizuka. "The clan will grow again. And there will always be you and I."

(Shizuka) "Is that blood?!"

Sakura sat at her desk, her work on Natsuki and Eiji’s Scope Shots shoved aside for the moment as she frowned at the letter Makino-sensei had brought to her. She let out a soft, bothered hum as she read it over for the fifth time, then sighed and pulled a hand through her hair, uncertain of what to do about this. She set the fancy sheet of paper down and slumped back in the chair, closing her eyes as she tried to sort out her thoughts.”

Akashi walked into the main with two apples in his hand. He walked over to see Sakura slumped in a chair. Confused as to what was wrong with her, he moved near her and put an apple on the desk. “You seem in need of a break.” He asked as he leaned on the table she was working on.

"You’re kind of out of it today." He took a bite of his apple. “Something happen?”
