Despite being thousands of years old, time can really feel like it’s just dragging on. Lucifer sets down the papers in his hand on the neat stack of other important paperwork on his desk.
He sighs and stares at Diavolo, who has been boring holes into his face across the room since they started the day two hours ago. He gives up on his plan of waiting for Diavolo to get tired--clearly he wasn’t going to be, anytime soon. “Yes, Diavolo? Is there anything on my face that you’ve been staring at it for two whole hours? If I was Asmodeus, I’d preen at your attention, but...”
“Lucifer, I’m not in the right frame of mind to work.” Diavolo looks away from him, clenching his fists. Lucifer’s eyes widen, “Diavolo, wh--” “I’ve tried to do everything, but I’m just not feeling right. I know what I want, but...”
“What is it? If I can give it to you, I will, Diavolo.”
“Be very careful of what you say, Lucifer.” Diavolo turns his head to stare into Lucifer’s eyes intensely (again). “I have always been a man of my word, you know this. Now tell me, what is it that you want?”
“For you to be my butler.”
“Are you truly of sound mind, Diavolo?”
“I wasn’t kidding when I said I was jealous of *MC’s name*. I can’t work until you serve me.”
“Diavolo… you quite literally, own me, what more do you want?”
