What exactly is a speakeasy?

we've had a few people ask us what a speakeasy is so here have some info :D

Speakeasy's were underground establishments that illegally sold alcohol during the prohibition era from around the 1920's- 1930's.

Most states in America made the possession and consumption of alcohol illegal! The guys and dolls weren't having any of it and so a speakeasy (or blind tiger) was born!

People were ordered to whisper as they entered the underground establishment hence the term speakeasy. Gin was distilled in bathtubs (we're serving ours in teapots, it's fine!) Ladies lifted their skirts above their ankles (we've got some amazing burlesque acts)

We're throwing an event with all the glamour and fun of a speakeasy but with the volume turned up and it's completely legal! :D We look forward to seeing you there and don't worry if you don't have a vintage look we have a hat booth on site! :D
