So I’m on Tumblr for the first time in a while, and I just wanted to say that I hope you’re all doing well. <3

The moment in TFIOS where after sex Hazel leaves sleeping Gus a Venn diagram that demonstrates he’s now outside of the virgin circle makes me uncomfortable. Something about the girl going out of her way to reassure her man of his manliness? Making a cute comment about the favor she just did for him? Despite being in her mind we don’t really get any insight about how the sex affects her, but rather her paying attention to how it affects him.

It’s actually a pretty realistic scene in my opinion, and just because a scene makes me uncomfortable doesn’t mean it’s bad and shouldn’t be in a book. What makes me really uncomfortable is how TFIOS frames this gesture as romantic and funny and re-acknowledging their shared nerdiness, when all I see is a girl seeing her own sexual experiences as primarily beneficial to a boy.

It’s moments like this and when Hazel says that creepy staring from a boy is totes okay if he’s hot that tell me John Green does not write women well.

Over the last couple of days, I binge-watched the first season of American Horror Story and I'm now using America's Next Top Model as a chaser.

I just want a movie that shows how hard a serious relationship can be. I want it to show that two people can love each other, but not be good together as a couple.

Getting real sick of people using the phrase "suicide victims."

Getting real sick of people arguing it's not selfish. 

Getting real sick of people saying, "You only call them selfish because you've never been there or known a 'victim'".

I. fucking. have. 

You're not a victim. You're a sufferer, sure. You didn't choose to have depression or trauma or whatever. 

You chose to die. You chose.

If I killed myself, I'd hope everyone had the decency to NOT blow smoke up my dead ass by "defending me."

Just because you miss someone, it doesn’t mean you should go back to them. Sometimes you have to just keep missing them until you wake up one morning and realise that you don’t anymore.

I get really uncomfortable when people talk about suicide “in theory” because I feel like I’m keeping a secret and at any moment I’ll slip up and they’ll know that I have had multiple friends kill themselves.
