Would you like some help?
“It’s nothing you can help, Starlight. I appreciate the offer, though.”
"You underestimate my power. I can have...a talk. Make them see the light."
“Arrgh! Why do they keep pandering to those kind of ponies! They don’t deserve anything they have! And you’re just letting them take what they want with no consequence!”
Would you like some help?
O\\\O
“What are you doing precisely?”

“Oh, Celestia~ I didn’t realize a short leash was so literal.”
I think your portraying starlight glimmer really well. Great acting, behavior is outstanding and over choices are evenly matched.
//Two questions: Do you rp with non-mutuals and have you seen the season 5 finale of mlp?
(( Yes, I do, and yes I have.
My Starlight’s motivations are a bit more complex. ))
...give me a moment on replies. I have to think about this one.
(( WHELP MUSE IS ALIVE NOW ))
Guess I better formalize this blog, huh?
“What if that’s not true, though?” Starlight asked, standing up. “Sure, it’s great for you, who has a cutie mark of Magic! But you use it to lord over the ponies whose ‘purpose’ is to do as you say! That’s the reason I want to eliminate cutie marks.” she calmed down, a shaky smile crossing her features. “I’m going to bring everyone down to the same level. No more disagreements. No more arguing. No more broken friendships. I promise you, Twilight Sparkle. One day, you’ll come to me and ask me to take away that which separates you from your friends. One day, you’ll understand how wonderful when everypony is equal to one another.”
“You haven’t even learned anything have you? I don’t use my cutie mark to lord over ponies. I may be an alicorn but it doesn’t mean I’m superior to anypony. You still don’t understand anything.”
“I understand more than you think.” Starlight shot back, before catching herself. She took in a deep breath. “You’re not a bad pony, Twilight Sparkle. I think we both want the same thing in the end. But these marks…from the moment we get them, we’re sorted. Separated from one another. You’ve never stopped to think about that? Never noticed how the day you get your mark, things…change?” Starlight paused for a moment, looking away. “I have, and it made me question everything.”
“Getting my mark was the greatest thing that happened to me. It set in motion the events that lead to me meeting my friends. Without it…” She looks at the ground, clearly troubled at the thought of never getting her cutie mark.
“But what if you didn’t get that mark? What about the friendships you never made, the path you didn’t take?” Starlight pressed. “Sure, you might have met those other five anyway, but the reason you did, by your own admission, are events set in motion by that mark.” she pointed at it. “It dominates your destiny. Takes away choice.”
“I may never have met my friends. I was born and raised in Canterlot. If I never got my cutie mark I would never have gotten into Celestia’s School of Magic and who knows where I or even Equestria would be right now.”
“You don’t. And that’s the key to all my research, all my work. These marks...what they do to us...I’m still grasping the fullness of it.” Starlight sets her face. “You’re right that I was wrong to force you to give up your mark, but I have to do this. I’m not going to quietly give up on my goals or my ideals. Maybe that’s what my Cutie Mark is telling me. Maybe one day, we’ll both find out.”
“What if that’s not true, though?” Starlight asked, standing up. “Sure, it’s great for you, who has a cutie mark of Magic! But you use it to lord over the ponies whose ‘purpose’ is to do as you say! You Miss have a Great talent with Magic.
“Well, thank you! Of course, I don’t like to talk about it too much. I consider my talent a means to an end, and only use it as well as anyone else.”
But i got to warn you, it’s going to be a bit long. So do you want to sit down on a chair and grab a snack?
“Really, I’m more interested in your world than your entire life story. You don’t have to go through all that...”
“What if that’s not true, though?” Starlight asked, standing up. “Sure, it’s great for you, who has a cutie mark of Magic! But you use it to lord over the ponies whose ‘purpose’ is to do as you say! So many new ponies following me!
“Science, i guess? I donno. Quite frankly i haven’t spent too much time thinking about why you did what you did. Mostly because i didn’t appreciate it that much.”
“No, I imagine you did not, and I’m sorry.” Starlight said, hanging her head. “I did it for you, though. You and your friends, you’ve been so lucky to have found a place to shine. Not everyone can do that, not everyone finds a cutie mark they love. I wanted help everyone.”
Pinkamena sighed. “I guess i can see where you’re coming from, but the way you did it just wasn’t the right way of going about it. I don’t like losing what makes me..me, you know? Nobody does. Not to mention also the added deception of you saying you had done the same thing when in reality you haven’t..” She shakes her head. “Basically, there was probably a better way of doing what you wanted to do.”
“You’re right about that.” Starlight agreed, nodding slowly. “I lied to you. I imprisoned you, and I stole from you. That wasn’t what I set out to do...I guess my goal got lost in all of this. I do believe that Equality is the path to true friendship, and if I could give up my own mark, I would.” she looked back at the star on her flank, her brow furrowed. “But I need this power for now, and so I’ll use it to help others.”
Twilight nodded. “It wasn’t only until I was able to help them see what their true talents were that the spell was reversed and I was able to finish the spell that Starswirl had started.”
“I see! Talents that happened to coincide with their cutie marks, but still. It proves that marks can make us miserable!” a sly smile began to spread over Starlight’s face. “How did you say this happened?”
“It was a spell and only the wrong cutie mark can make us miserable.”
“Uh. Uh. Uuuuh!” Starlight poked Twilight’s chest. “You’re changing the subject! What spell? How did it happen?”
Twilight was purposely being as vague as she could about the spell. “Celestia sent me one of Starswirl’s books, there was an unfinished spell and I cast it. Simple as that.”
“Ah ha!” Starlight said, laughing. “You see? You thought you were better than everypony else, that you could cast whatever spell you like, and that was the result! Don’t you see why what I’m doing is so important? You’re not so great, and ponies like you need to realize that!”
Twilight sighs and shakes her head. “What you’re doing could potentially harm more ponies than what I did. If you take away a pony’s cutie mark, you take away their purpose.”
“What if that’s not true, though?” Starlight asked, standing up. “Sure, it’s great for you, who has a cutie mark of Magic! But you use it to lord over the ponies whose ‘purpose’ is to do as you say!
