approaching the holidays, i’m really feeling in the spirit lately. can you ever be too in tune?? 1 Corinthians 10:31 kept coming up: “whatever you do, do it for God’s glory.” &i was like okay i know that… but then it actually made sense. bc it’s not about big church moments or these dramatic “look at God use me” things. it’s literally the tiny stuff: me choosing peace instead of arguing/going back & forth, me leaving immature/toxic/inconsistent ppl alone, me setting boundaries w/o guilt, me walking away instead of matching ppl that are beneath me spiritually, me choosing rest & clarity over chaos.
like woah even THAT can honor God??even my rest & peace??? ohhhh i’m catching on quick. i used to think to glorify God i had to stay in situations that felt impossible so that He could do some huge miracle through my patience & faith. but no. there are so many chances to honor Him in my everyday choices
verses 32–33 hit too: basically “don’t let anybody pull you out of character.” which is funny bc i feel like i’m literally graduating in discernment right now. i’m growing into someone calmer & softer & less reactive, but still solid. still protected. still me. still true to myself.
((btw this is just my experience.i respect everybody’s beliefs & whatever path they’re on. i’m not trying to convert nor convince anybody anything lol. this is just the lane God has me in right now.))
the way i choose peace now, the way i protect my spirit, the way i don’t fold for disrespect anymore just by controlling myself & my life &having the courage to move on knowing full well i kept good intentions, with humility, self respect & love. well that’s the real “glorify God” part of my life. not loud. not perfect. just honest. no ego outburst.
i genuinely am processing all my difficult emotions & scary insecurities, speaking truth & life over myself,& just being a real person to others too. strangers even. i be praying for ppl to prosper& grow & they probably will still continue to hurt me the next chances they get. at least i have a full life i don’t feel i need validation about. the blows feel like small thuds now.&i have no reason to grieve what was cruel all them seasons ago. I pray they get right w themselves& whatever they believe.

“You do not meet hate with love. Some will say that when a hateful person makes you hate, they win. But those people will never say what exactly it is that they win. They will say that if you resist hate and meet it with love, that you win. But they never tell us what we win. We see with our eyes. We see that the only thing we win is death by machete. Isolation. Massacre.”

bell hooks: Pema, one of the ideas in your work that really challenges me is abandoning the hope of fruition. That’s really hard for me.
Pema Chödrön: The way I understand it is that we rob ourselves of being in the present by always thinking that the payoff will happen in the future. The only place ever to work is right now. We work with the present situation rather than a hypothetical possibility of what could be. I like any teaching that encourages us to be with ourselves and our situation as it is without looking for alternatives. The source of all wakefulness, the source of all kindness and compassion, the source of all wisdom, is in each second of time. Anything that has us looking ahead is missing the point.

Bitch.
Action. Is the only way to defeat not caring what others think. Bc if I stop to think of a moment, i already fell for it. My mind fucked it up by overthinking. The second I push myself to get started through the action, I’m proving to myself that even if I care that others are gonna see& judge& be nosy & I clearly care, I’m gonna do it anyways.
