Explain the Johnny Depp thing, I am confused D;

Last year Johnny Depp brought his dogs into Australia without having them go through quarantine first. He didn’t even declare them. This caused a huge up roar because Australia is rabies free and we’d like to keep it that way. Australia has very strict biodiversity laws for a reason.

Johnny Depp won’t let it go. Brings it up constantly during interviews, or someone else does. He’s trying to make a joke about it all, but the bottom line is that he broke the law and for some reason he thinks he’s above it. So he really needs to get over it.

I’ve never really like him anyway because he’s overrated as an actor but that’s just me. The bullshit last year with his dogs confirmed my strong distaste of him.

As I see it, he chose not to obey the law because he didn’t understand it, and like most ignorant people he seems to think that if he doesn’t “get” it it’s a stupid rule. Depp is an actor, there is no reason to assume he has any knowledge or education whatsoever on the topic of science, health, and bio-security so the fact that he is given air time to give his opinion on such matters is ridiculous. (I’m not suggesting all actors are uneducated just that it’s not a given). Our bio-security laws exist to protect all parts of our society, that’s everything from agriculture/ industry to individuals. Barnaby is a fucking joke of a man but I support the push to encourage Depp to do the right thing, it’s just a shame Depp is a petulant child throwing a tantrum because he was told off.
