the great escape.
Cameron’s certain that there isn’t a person in the entire world, other than Bristol, that was able to pull any sort of lingering stress and guilt out of him with just a simple kiss; which, really, only further ensured the younger that his boyfriend was a wizard of some sort. “How do you do that?” He asks through a sigh, managing a small quirk of his lips as he presses their foreheads together. His eyes blinked back any remaining wetness, and though he feels just as guilt-ridden as he did before, his shoulders have relaxed and sagged forward, and he’s kind of completely thankful of Bristol’s existence at that particular moment. “I can’t see how you find yourself to be such a bad person when you make me feel like this," his grin widens just a bit, before leaning forward for another kiss, this one lingering on a bit longer than the one prior. And he’s certain at that moment that he’s completely and utterly gone for the boy — like, head over heels, a corps perdu, gone. "I don’t think I could ever thank you enough for just — being you, and making me feel so stupidly giddy all of the god damn time, even when I’m supposed to feel like shit.” And Cameron’s completely veered off topic at this point, but it’s kind of impossible to quell the rapid beating of his heart, so really, he doesn’t see the point in trying.
That's where Bristol disagrees, though, and he knows that maybe Cammy's convinced that he shouldn't, and that Cammy knows him, probably better than anybody aside from Alaska, but he just can't help it. He can't help but think he isn't worth this -- isn't worth the kisses, and the kind words, and the absolutely heart-wrenching way this beautiful boy looks at him; it isn't fair for him to keep arguing, though, so he just lets it go. "You're not supposed to feel like shit, Cameron. That's the last thing you're supposed to feel like. Maybe that's what they intended for you when they told you to do what they did, but don't give in -- it isn't your fault. It isn't. I'm convinced of that." He rests their foreheads together, one of his hands slid around to hold the back of his neck, fingertips toying lightly with the soft hairs there. "I hate seeing you feel like this. I hate knowing that I've caused it before."
